Better Call Saul Season Thread - Season Six - April 18th

Dude could have had partner tho....
Saul don't got that Harvey from Suits drive. If he had a partner like that then I could see him being more ambitious.
I feel like when they wrote the final episode they weren't sure they'd get a second season...that would make sense as to why there wasn't a cliffhanger and the series ties up nice and neat.

My issue is that it was completely stagnant. I thought the season was great but this episode was completely pointless.
It was a venting ep for Jimmy. Still reeling from the revelations about his own brother. He goes back home, reminisces with an old friend, gets back in to old habits, decides to go back to reality and gets some grief before he leaves and then with invigorated spirit finally decides to do things his own way not following Chuck's path.

It was a total character focus ep as he developed and is transforming in to Saul. Far from stagnant. Yeah maybe some of that could've been condensed but then you gotta recognize real world things like this show initially not being guaranteed a S2.

Thought he was gonna stop saying McGill in the parking lot and change his name right then and there, but OK episode. Odenkirk was right, episodes 5 and 9 were the best of the season.

Literally exactly what I thought was going to happen.

I know this episode was geared to give us the full morphage of Jimmy into Saul...but at the very least they could have shown him changing his name from Jimmy to Saul Goodman at the end. Definitely could have been better put together.

Anyone else think Chuck was reachin for a piece instead of the doorknob at first glance? :nerd:

I had to rewind to double check.

He flat out realized he didn't want to be a partner or work for/with someone else. He wants his own practice, good or "Bad" clients.

Wonder where they go with Season 2.

I don't get the big harping on having Jimmy say my name is Saul Goodman now or officially changing it. It's not a big deal at all. We already know he will in some sense. Why the rush? or why is it even that important?

I'm not even sure like he legally changes his name to Saul the way he brought it up in BB. He simply used it to sound more like a Jewish lawyer to better get clientele.

I think him taking his con man skills and applying it to law is really where he becomes Saul.

The Bingo scene was awesome. It was like a stand up bit with the wrong crowd. Hilarious and awful. The illegally tinted windows

As for the whole ep, it kind of reminded me of the BB finale. Not quality or anything - just that the 2nd to last episode was EXPLOSIVE and had us reeling. Then the last ep kind of felt like an epilogue. It was just showing us how Saul responded to the final revelation. Nothing crazy. No cliffhanger, no special appearances. It's not going to have the internet buzzing but it was a rock solid way to end. I was entertained.

Can't wait for S2. Safe to say this was a huge success - IDK about ratings but in terms of quality. Definitely exceeded my expectations.

I thought the first guy that Marco and Jimmy scammed knew that it was a scam after marco got on the phone.. thought he heard the voicemail thing talking and got suspicious.

I doubt dude just abruptly decides to change his name. I think it'll be a bit more intricate.

Hell, I'm betting we'll have Jimmy for majority of the series run.

The damn name of the show is Better Call Saul....I don't think it would really fit with the show to have his name being Jimmy for the majority of it

Maybe part of it has to due with the fact that I'm in law school, but the show was very entertaining to me. Can't wait for Season 2.

ep was meh.

the bingo scene was cringe-worthy and uncomfortable as hell. story was terrible.

References from BB that I noticed right away

Georgia O'Keeffe
Belize
Costner

Finale was okay. Like Seasons 1-3 of Game of Thrones episode 9 was amazing while the season finale is the aftermath.

Not feeling this.

Sadly, neither am I at this point. I was excited for this show, too.

Took 6 episodes for Walt to become Heisenberg. Ten episodes in and it's still Jimmy Mcgill.
Saul and Heisenberg are two different animals evidenced by BB itself

The rest of this series is gonna be fun lawyer maneuvering with criminals.

And at some point back to the present to see what's up with Saul post BB @ the Cinnabon.
