Better Call Saul Season Thread - Season Six - April 18th

What doesn't make sense about Jimmy stealing money from his dad's cash register over the years?  Like, if you payed any attention at all to his character on Breaking Bad you would know that this show was going to be based on a crooked lawyer. A con man you might say.  In fact it makes perfect sense to see that Jimmy started early

Exactly...

I think some people in here would rather watch The Kim Show and see her stupid *** face and Saul singing her lullabys over voicemail for the rest of this series though.

bruh

It's a TV show.

That's what I'm saying though. If the character arc makes absolutely no sense, it's just a show, I can just stop watching whenever.

Crooked lawyer means doing shady things to get
His clients off, not rob his family blind. Ken Wins being an a-hole is one thing. But his gullible father. Nah. Out of all the people he could have robbed the whole show. Where do you draw the line? Why not start robbing Kim? Or his brother chuck? Why not his friends? It doesn't make sense to me, based on his character. No.

Why does how you choose to view and critique a show bother people? ya'll gotta chill man. I see the same butthurtedness in the BvS thread, dudes blocking people. They don't like what you like, pull your skirts up.

There's wolves and there's sheep :pimp:

[emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji] man what are you talking about? It's one thing to not agree with what a CHARACTER does but you flat out said you'll stop watching the show. I'm actually one of the guys that don't believe he took 14k from his dad but even if he did, that one lil flashback detail not gone stop me from watching the show. You acting like you know Jimmy in real life [emoji]128514[/emoji]..

He's acting like his daughter is marrying Jimmy and he doesn't approve and needs to stop the wedding

I have high standards for my lead characters B. Can't be wasting my hours of precious time on inconsistencies!

I don't know man, in BB it was clearly shown that Saul was pretty slimy in this crime game. It's why Walt had some resentment towards him and looked down on him at times. He had a very seedy introduction and that's just his character.

It's no surprise to me Jimmy did this.

Also he isn't just a crooked lawyer, he's a pretty crooked person. He's not scum of the Earth but again pretty slimy. Doesn't mean he can't be likable. Just know he's no Robin Hood.

I can dig being a low-life to some extent but why make him out as having at least moral codes with his family if you're just gonna turn around and have him rob his father? Why sho the painstaking care he gives his older brother if at the same time he liable to just rob him any chance he gets? It's mad inconsistent.

It's his ******* dad man! Not a guy that beat him or cheated on his mom or left him for a different family. Just a hard working honest man. And to rob him until he has to sell the store, then he dies? That puts Jimmy in scum of the earth territory.

Actually nevermind. Can't do it. I'm out. This show just lost me.

Saul in BB was very slimy, "colorful", and a finesse King....but he was always loyal to his clients...and never folded. He would work the system, make off suggestions and new the consequences of all the street stuff...but he made it his business to never get too involved. And if everything blew up...he had an out.

I never got from BB that Saul was a bad guy. He was just a crooked lawyer. Same way Mike is a "cleanup guy"...but ultimately a good dude. I love this series because it blurs the lines of morality. And makes you decide what is "right" or "wrong".

Just breeave bro. We all inconsistent. We human.

Show is dope, but sllllooooooooooowwww af. Like **** could be a 15 min show if they cut out all the extra drag in scenes
where ****** do basic things and mundane shots that dont move the story forward.

Chucks story.....and a 10 year old Saul pocketing $5 from his old man.....after explaining that the store was a sitting lick in the town for years....leads you to believe that he took all $14k from his pops? Nah man. If you can't see that there is obviously more to the story...and more to the characters, then this show isn't for you.

Best episode of the series so far.

Ignore the haters, season has been lit. Maybe it's because I'm in law school, but I've enjoyed watching the different turns Jimmy's legal career has taken up until this point.

Cuz in real life these sort of ppl would even screw over their family. Nothing in BB ever hit me like Saul has a don't screw over family rule (granted back then I figured his whole fam was as crooked as him).

The reason they're showing that is to show you how Jimmy becomes the man he is, how he becomes Saul.

If anything, the whole reason he takes care of Chuck - knowing his "condition" is bull **** - is probably cuz of guilt of what went down with his father.

Yeah it's his dad and like the dude told him wolf and sheep. Their dad is such a well wishing gullible mark. I can see the scene in my head when Chuck told him that Jimmy pocketed this much money over time and just not willing to believe it. He's a sucka in the real world. That's probably how Jimmy slightly began to see his own dad, especially in his teen years.

If you didn't know Jimmy was a scumbag character I don't know what to tell you. He was aware and down for a lot of foul **** as a lawyer in BB.

Couple thoughts

Kim prolly super fire in bed

Saul stole from his dad cuz he figured, why let other folks take his bread I might as well take it and put it to better use, scummy but makes sense

I feel like Saul will say no to Kim proposal

It seemed obvious to me that a large chunk of the 14,000 that was missing was most likely from his dad giving away money like he did. Not from Jimmy stealing all of it.

I found that scene interesting compared to the scene with Mike's daughter in law and the house. It really seemed like she was conning Mike. Going through the trouble of bringing him to the house - telling him how life changing it was then ending it by pretending she was worried about the cost. Just like Jimmy's dad - he kinda knew it in the back of his mind, but was okay doing it on the off chance she was genuine. I don't really remember how her character was in BB so I don't know if I'm just reaching.

That shot with Kim smoking on the rooftop was amazing.
