yeah dude i still enjoyed the episode.
Hoping there is a lot of scenes in the next episode with gus and not just a 30 second intro.

Am I the only one that thought they made Ernesto look EVEN MORE like young Gus in this episode? It would be stupid if they don't end up saying that the two of them are somehow related. They also manage to somehow get Ernesto's car in every episode that he's in...I swear that's going to tie into some situation later on in the show.

Why was draining the battery on the original gps so important? Why not simply switch them?

I love watching Mike work. He barely had any lines but was the most interesting.

The only reason for the guy to switch the tracker was because the battery ran down.
If Mike didn't run the battery down it wouldn't have needed to be switched.
The whole point was for the guy to think the cap he was taking was dead, when in fact the dead one was in the trash and the one he took was functional and Mike would then use it to find the guy.

Here's what I interpreted to have happened with the tracking beacons:
At the beginning, there's two tracking beacons. Let's call them A & B. A is on Mike's temporary car (for potential Hector assassination), B is on Mike's primary car (the black one parked outside his house).
A is left with the car at the junkyard - which makes sense, as Mike would be spooked after the "don't" message and would want to get rid of the vehicle.
After returning home, Mike takes B into his house for analysis, primarily to get the serial #. Once he gets this information, he leaves B at work while he goes out to buy a new beacon using the serial number, which we'll call C. C also includes the actual tracking unit that can show where its corresponding tracking beacon is.
Mike tests the functionality of C, seeing functions like distance & low power indicators. Finally, Mike drains the battery of B by hooking up a radio to it, so that whoever's monitoring B will get the low power message.
Mike places C in his car, and discards B, and waits for someone to come by to replace B.
Side note - replacing the beacon unit here makes sense, as the person tracking likely has multiple tracking systems (they used 2 on Mike with A & B). Replacing a battery on site would be noisy and time-consuming - better to replace with another beacon, take the original back for a new battery, and re-deploy it elsewhere.
Anyways, back to the end of the episode - some unknown person shows up with the intention of replacing B. Instead, they grab Mike's beacon C and leave with it - giving Mike what he needs to follow them. From the mystery person's perspective, B has been replaced with a new beacon, D, and Mike leaves D at home while he drives off into S03E02.

One of the few time I thank God for NT. I was a little confused about the tracking device part.

Man. This show is great. Just finished Get Down season 3. Now this. I just hate the year gap between seasons lol. I've stopped watching so many shows after finishing seasons because of that.

I wonder if the two Mexican shooter brothers will make an appearance.

I think we all know a "Jimmy" in person. Dude just can't stop using people smh. Look like it's all about to catch up to him.

I'm #TeamRecapVid tho. Spend about 5-7 minutes on YT the day of the new season premiere and I'm pretty much back in the loop.

Not to derail, but a show like GoT I rather re-watch in full because I enjoy it more and the details are endless. Saul is complex as well tho.
