Better Call Saul Season Thread - Season Six - April 18th

Best episode thus far.

On one hand, I wish this was a Netflix season so I could just binge on it for a weekend.

But then calmer heads prevail and this is waaaaay better.

gus will be in this series but probably the 2nd or 3rd season. and he will probably take up an entire season. people want to see him too much. writers definitely know this. gus will be Better Call Saul's Trinity killer.

Mike is a G. Loved seeing his backstory and how it tied in to BB. Best episode of the season so far.

Im curious to know why you guys think Gus will make an apperence anytime soon?

He has no connection to Saul.

saul was the one who put walter onto gus

edit: felt like the daughter in law's acting, characterization and dialogue were all weak

Im sayin Saul had no interactions with Gus if Im not mstaken.

Dont remember them sharing any screen time at all.

Mike was Deep with Gus, and assuming we have more Mike oriented episodes (which I fully expect after last night) I think they'd have to get to it eventually.

I'm not getting my hopes up. I still feel like it's a bit of a long shot, but I'm hoping we get there. There's a ton that was left unsaid about Gus and his back story that they could fill in now.

But maybe that's just wishful thinking.

sharing no screentime is different than having no connection to

just because they didnt have an onscreen conversation doesnt mean they didnt know each other

they could show it to us now for all we know

this show could easily be the vehicle to show us backstories for a lot of BB characters relating to saul and/or walt

Just watched it.  Man, I had really high expectations for this show because of BB and it does not disappoint.  Really surprised it's on par with its predecessor, even if there will be some slow episodes it still that good.

So happy man, this has cured my BB hangover x10, can't wait to see more about Mike backstory and hopefully Gus as well.

Wife was a terrible actress. Vince needs to cast better females. Episode was on point though. That whole back story and my emotions

I thought she was damn good. She's Maryl Streep compared to Kim, Skylar, or Marie.

What??? When I watched the episode I was definitely thinking she's not a good actress. No way no how is she better than skylar or marie. If i see those two in real life i may have a legitimate beef with them. matt's wife reminded me a LOT of lydia.

yeah that's weird. I was thinking the whole time her performance was genuine and well performed. Maybe I just like her angry/upset face more than skyler or maries.

I will NOT compromise on Kim. The actress who plays Kim is NOT talented, I'm sorry. She seems more suited for a show like CSI:Baltimore alongside Ice T or something like that

Correct me if I'm wrong but when Mike dies in BB is he shot at the same place where he got shot in BCS? Upper right chest?

2. The ENTIRE episode is shaded and lighted in a blue tint, it's weird. Also every single character that has lines in the entire episode is wearing blue (except for Jimmy in his Matlock suit )
The daughter-in-law was wearing blue every time? Hell was Mike wearing blue in every scene? The vet doctor that took care of his bullet wound? The cab driver?

I don't think that's right.

That we know of.

I really had no problems with the chick playing the daughter-in-law. She didn't take me out of any scenes or make me stop and say she's terrible. The character did some dumb things but they were understandable story wise given what we discover about the past.

I also was thinking the actress who played the daughter in law was a bad actress until the last scene. She made up for it

Cab driver says "yeah" or "kinda" or something like that

The Vet wears no blue, you're right.

Daughter in law has on blue in every scene.

Mike wears grey at the police station and later that day at daughter in laws house.

Not saying this means anything. I was just pointing out that it's the painfully obvious color palette/theme of the episode. Thin Blue Line reference maybe? Who knows. Just food for thought. It seems pretty intentional though.

In the last scene when Mike says she knows who kills the cops and asks her if she can live with that or w/e she was wearing blue too? I remember her in some white button up like with pink lines at one point for some reason.

I don't think the color stuff means much theme wise but is an aesthetic choice to mesh with the tone of the story being told. The blue tint in most of the ep speaks to that.
