Better Call Saul Season Thread - Season Six - April 18th

I hope to GOD the show gets far enough to show mike as a "cleaner". We basically only got 1 episode of him being a cleaner on BB. I want MOAR!

edit: well 2 episodes if you count the one where mike helps walt and jesse clean up the box-knife-to-the-throat mess at the Meth lab

This show will go for as long as Vince and co. want. After Mad Men ends, BCS will be the only show on AMC that will get any Emmy attention.

BCS Mike > BB Mike
He's been handling tickets in a booth for 90% of the time.

I just don't get why ya'll want this to be BB.

I'm hoping it continues to be more like the first 5 episodes instead of episode 6.

Episode 6 felt like a BB episode, I have a feeling BB fan boys are gonna force the producers hand tho.

So many stories they can tell but everyone wants this to be related to the BB story

Well, you kinda can't avoid it being related to the Breaking Bad story. I like Saul for what it is with a Mike episode here and there to change the pace.

im loving this show, every week i can't wait to see the next one. But with that said, comparing the first 6 episodes of this to the first 6 of BB, it's not even close, BB craps all over this show so far

The entire premise and concept behind BB is too dope for BCS to top right now. Really REALLY good TV but BCS seems like it'll hit it's stride once Saul is doing true dirt. Right now, it's not anywhere near as intense as BB.

yea pretty much. Plus as much as i love Odenkirk, it's gonna be pretty hard for any TV character to top Brian Cranston as Walter White

Absolutely.

BB hit the ground running. It was immediately intense. Show started with a dude out in the desert in his underwear hearing police sirens. Like, from the jump, it was wild.

BCS is taking it's time to set a tone, tell a backstory. And that's fine, but you have to either appreciate the different premier seasons as different, or frustrate yourself trying to make them the same.

word. yall gotta understand the show is different in tone. in BB from the jump, walt was the bad guy. it took a whole 30 minutes or so to see walt go from good guy to anti-hero. the show was ABOUT him becoming a kingpin and struggling to balance it out. BCS is about an innocent struggling lawyer BECOMING a crooked lawyer. BB was about the events that happened. BCS is about the characters stories. they will pace different. Walt went from good guy to bad guy in 1 episode. If saul went from good lawyer to bad lawyer in 1 episode...thered be no show. enjoy the ride. cuz mike is about to turn. and soon... SOON.....we will have gus.

Man, Walt and Jesse were disposing of bodies like two episodes in.

I don't think it really is giving the start a run for its money personally.

Five-O > that episode

But yall acting like a said BB was trash

Im just saying the beginning of both shows in season 1 are on par
Of course the Mike was better than that. The thing your missing is that ep solely derived from and possible because of BB

I think it's silly to even compare a spinoff show to the main show when the main show is finished and done.

Saul's story doesn't have the hook or compelling nature that Walt's did. So even if you were just comparing season to season I wouldn't say BCS was better.
This doesn't even make sense

This is getting ridiculous.

the fact that people still dont "get" the "fly" ep of BB is hilarious... i always see it as "the lamest ep of BB"

They can't appreciate the art Vince creates :smh:

I use to get tight when ppl called that filler. Like they don't get character development and really crafting a character's personality. That whole ep was a look in to Walt's mind struggling with Gus being in control, Walt realizing he's just another employee again, being super anal about the cook which is his craft, etc.

The basics just want the drug deals and violence. Episodes like "Fly" are the reason that anyone even cares about what's happening to the characters/story.

I've had friends that skim the "boring parts" or even read synopses to get to the action in The Wire or Breaking Bad :x (they're not my friends anymore).

That should be a ******* crime :smh:

The disrespect.

If anything reading the synopses should make you want to the ep in full even more.

Alls I'm saying is Mike then is better than Breaking Bad Mike. Yes, it's still the same character but the BCS Mike hit Saul w a shoulder lock, pick pocketed the young officer from Philly, and orchestrated the murder of the two cops that killed his son. And we're only in episode 6.

THIS! By the SECOND episode they were melting bodies in Hydroflouric acid

BCS is good in a far different way but yes it's nowhere near as intense as BB was

Compared to the **** Mike did in BB? I'm not seeing it.

Plus you keep saying we're only on ep 6 like this is Mike's show or something  He did the majority of all of what you said in 2 eps. The majority in the last ep. The majority of Mike in BCS has been go and get some stickers for validated parking and helping him out with a missing family.

Like lets not get twisted. Writers have the freedom to dedicate an entire ep to Mike cuz the story they're telling with Saul isn't the same thing as what they're telling with Walt and Jesse which is why Mike never got an entire ep all about him.

Well, you kinda can't avoid it being related to the Breaking Bad story. I like Saul for what it is with a Mike episode here and there to change the pace.

Walt, Jesse, and Mike were 3 clients.

Lawyers have a few dozen in addition to his outside life.

Bring BB in towards the end of the series.

I think thy will rush BB in too early because of fanboys.

Let Sauls story play out first.

BCS is way better than what I expected. It may not be at the level BB was at (yet) but I appreciate where it's going so far. I can't wait for the next episode.
