Nike SNKRS App Nike.com/SNKRS

They are sending all pairs to retailers, none will release online. According to their statement anyways
that's not what Nike is saying .... retailers got their expected shipment (no extra) and the corp decided to just sit on their online allotment.  There would be no way for Nike to distribute the 'extra' sneakers intended for online sales to the various stores, considering it was projecting doing online sales (twitter has Nike as late as 5/6p stating such) and to ship those many pairs out by morning would be cost prohibitive.

OUT af
I could understand the pinnacles but the OG 1s in 3 months is stoops
I know that's what the app is saying but I don't think its gonna be 3 months....that would push it back to fall and christmas time which in turn would muck up its whole release calendar. Folks plan around big release and Nike wants us every month to cop a pair (or two) ... if this is pushesd back and Nike still its has xmas drop ALONG with the UNC drop -- folks will have an either/or dilemma which is not good for Nike at the end of the fiscal year when they have to come up off of dividends for its shareholders. I am betting this is apart of a disrupter model to combat the bots.....so in about week or 2 these will drop on an 'off' release day. If this is truly about bots, then Nike wants these to drop as soon the bot companies are refunding folks and there's no time for them to recoup what they would have made and definitely not at the same pricepoint.

That's pretty crazy. If I'm not mistaken it's the first time that Nike has actually come straight out and said that "bots" were a problem.

I honestly thought the same thing as well, it only validates the rumors i was a naysayer but it's clearly apparent bots are effective so much so it has altered the landscape of an entire fortune 500 company's procedures. .

Did you not read what that said? Online order is canceled, not delayed. It also says they will be available thru select Nike retailers and "our stores".

That's not saying they are sending the inventory to retailers. It's just saying you can get pairs from retailers if you want them.
Nike doesn't show its cards like that 99% of the time.

What we could expect:
A random ndc launch
Pairs to end up at outlets
Rescheduled release

Any of those are possible but I'm not holding my breath. Bots will scoop em all up in any online release situation.

The canceled release is scheduled for 8-30-15. Also , the June 10 (legend blue, bob, liberty, and others) restock has moved to 10-10-15 .

That's not exactly what they said. They only reminded  people .if you wasn't already aware, that the 1's are available at select retailers.

Ok, Nike canceled the biggest release this year so far cuz of bots...So what now? I'd expect for them to make some changes in order to give everyone a fair chance, I guess will know next week. The Retro N7, Playoffs 20 and Poison green 5s are set to release, plus C&C 7 pack, Quai 54 and Palyoff 13s low and GF foams later on the month. After the latest restocks and releases being compromised by bots, I honestly think they might have an answer for the bots and will rollout a new checkout process soon.

Some one correct me if I am wrong, but....

The only way NIKE can fight the issue with the BOTS is if they some how release all products through an app. From what I know, there isn't a BOT for apps ( although. I'm pretty sure it can be made)

Is it possible that NIKE will do all releases through the SNKR APP?

The app was exploited like a month in. Don't know details of it but it's beeeen compromised...

actually there are bots for SNKRS and supposedly various ones were used during the beta period....someone pointed out in the CHIs thread a possible 'botbreaker' would be to move to a 1-click checkout system similar to amazon. The thought was it would eliminate a cart.

The App is still exploited but it's not mainstream anymore. This is can be good and bad. Snkrs is still your best chance but since i's exploited I can't say the same for anything really limited like the mirror foams restock. I think Amazon 1 click system would actually would help bots. Your fingers can never be as fast as a computer. As fast as you can click, a bot will be 10x faster.  However, I still think removing the cart is a step towards the right direction. Take away the cart holds and you disrupt an atc company's entire system. They could just take credit cards and do auto check but that's the idea. Most people get multiplies using paypal. You can make many paypal accts but how many credit cards can you realistically get that would be worth staying in the resell biz? a bot that goes through paypal would be a lot slower then using a credit card. Using a credit card will restrict the amount a bot user can purchase.

Nike's entire website is very bot friendly. Whats streamlined for the user will be beneficial for a bot. Nike's entire experience is great but is also fraud and bot friendly. Free returns? Free shipping? They only recently stop instant e gift cards. No accountability with nike retailers? raffling? really nike? They make it too easy and welcoming for abuse.   Let the servers crash like other websites and watch people give up developing bots for a bad server and go else where. If a bot cant connect or get bad responses from a server its useless. Nike needs to accept the reality that during releases 90% of the requests to the servers are from bot users. I would forgo the entire idea of a friendly user environment. Nike will have to find a balance somewhere. Going back to store release only is not the solution, and trying to "stop" bots is not going to work.
