Nike SNKRS App Nike.com/SNKRS

so u think nike will track each shoe to its destination. ok outside of whats already standard, UPC barcode(unique identifier) and UPS(comes with tracking) are you saying nike will use some kind of implanted  GPS device in each shoe? that's a little crazy don't u think.

I see no reason to believe that Nike ever intended to use this app to help the customer. Everything about the app is set to provide with an absolutely treasure trove of information. Store your credit card number? Store your billing address? Store your mailing address? Your name? Your e-mail? Your shoe size? What types of Nike products you prefer? What types of Nike products you buy? What is your cell phone number? Type of phone? Billing account tied to your phone? Area of phone usage?

Every one of those things I listed is something that Nike can use to market to you, sell your info, start clamping down on bots (not completely, but build a much stronger "mapping" of where their product goes) if they ever actually want to, and figure out where products are selling. If the app produces heavy traffic from specific "rural" hotspots, they can target shipments to those markets. It can greatly improve their efficiency while vastly increasing their knowledge and access to their target markets and help them control what shoe goes where.

Beyond the app, I'd be surprised if Nike is dumb enough to not be already scanning each unique pair prior to shipment. If each shoe is given a unique code and they track that code, they can monitor where the shoe actually ends up when it's on the internet. Pretty easy way to figure out the end location that way instead of trying to cut the heads off of all the offshoots.

Of course, this assumes that Nike has any true interest in anything, which they don't because they make $12 billion easy every year in straight profit. So, lol jk wtf omg bbq at all of us.

He's clearly talking about the APP tracking that information, not the shoes you buy from the app.

In terms of exploits, Nike Sonar (one of the biggest SNKRS) exploiters has pretty much failed recently due to the apps inconsistency.

There is no misconception and nike will never actually put out information about their network that can be exploited. youd just have to that find out. Whats been discovered is that nike.com and the app use different end points for their releases. the app gives priority over ndc atc requests for at least the first 5 minutes. of course with the exploits and everybody using it its back to the same problem. btw the exploit is still in effect it's just not marketable because of the constant changes nike makes to their atc parameters. some just before release. so good news i guess for snkrs app users at least until nike is done debugging their system

smh reading is quite fundamental 

he said  "Beyond the app....., " -----that suggests things nike may or may not do OUTSIDE aka 'beyond' of the app

please READ before posting. plus how would the app itself track your shoes. I wont even go into how impossible that is and if i misunderstood the original post, then its more of conspiracy theory than i thought.

For all intents and purposes, the app is essentially useless. Given Nike's target demographic for launch product coupled with the massive outreach Applr has in the smartphone market, the app provides little to no advantage these days.

I think at times it's been an advantage on certain releases. A few in the past months since launch I've seen a lot of people copping off the app and very few on actual sites. As hard as it is these days to eat, I'll take any gimmick i can. Seems like Nike knows they couldn't handle the Android traffic. Which is way higher than Apple.

Plenty useful to me just like any other iOS app I use.

Way higher?  The app is only for the US and I believe last time I checked Apple had something like 1% more market share than Android.  That doesn't take into account the iPads and iPods out there that can also run the app.
 
I've never had the pleasure of auto checkout, which is prolly kindergarten to those who code, but I don't see how 'got em' isn't considered and easier buying experience. No cart jacking etc etc etc... Any instances where the app has oversold?

Only over selling I've experienced was the racer Oreo 2.0, and I don't believe that dropped on the app at all

Got that cancelled as well on ndc, they intially sent me a 20% off coupon code out the blue and oddly just got an email from Nike last night to contact them...

Another week, another release not dropping on ndc or the app. Nike confirmed on Twitter the 13 lows will not be on ndc or the app
