You Don't Have To Call/ U Got It Bad/ You Remind Me Of

Vs

Yeah!/ Confessions/ Burn

Who y'all rockin' with, NT?

8701 is my **** but this isn't debatable confessions is classic

Confessions is technically the better record but I like 8701 more. So many great memories of that album and those songs :smokin

Give me the album with a 3 track stretch of Bad Girl, That's What It's Made For, and Can You Handle It...

8701 is dope, just more top heavy IMO

Confessions is better all the way through.

Twork It Out is :pimp: tho

Confessions pt 1 & 2

Bad girl

Seduction

Caught up

Burn

Can you handle it

Bruh it ain't even a question

8701 still one of my favorite cds of all time. That's my joint. So many ill tracks. Think I might drive to that cd tomorrow

I was never a big fan of Confessions.

Here I Stand is very underrated.

I'll go with 8701

Confessions is it. I have some fond memories of the 8701 time, but too many good tracks on confessions.

I would probably take Confessions over most R&B albums that have come out in the last 20 years tbh

I've had too many memories to Seduction, Can You Handle it, & Do it to Me.

8701 is a GREAT album tho. I wouldn't argue with you if you chose it.

Confessions for me. 8701 def has some classics, but like many have said, Confessions is overall more complete. Plus it's got this banger that blows a lot of J Dilla fans' minds

I just remember 8701 was delayed like CRAZY but man when it finally came out...it put Usher at the top. Then when Confessions came out, there was ABSOLUTELY NO QUESTION he was the R&B king. After these two albums though....Usher :smh:

EDIT: On a side note though, his interludes on both joints are FIRE! Hell, the 8701 intro is dope. Loving that piano intro. Man looking back at both albums though got some of my favorite track to track moments.

On 8701 it goes from U Don't Have to Call to the interlude for Can you help me to finally ending up with Can You Help Me (favorite non radio/single track by him HANDS DOWN) :smokin

Then on Confessions, you got Throwback to both Confessions to Burn!! What/!?!? :pimp:

Damn usher...what happened to you?

Great discussion for a topic.

8701 had some sleepers: How Do I Say, U-Turn, U R The One, Twork It Out

Confessions is his magnum opus. So many memories.

This is a great topic of discussion. My opinion on these two albums often switches depending on how I feel. Honestly, both albums are extremely complete. I think Confessions showed Usher taking his vocal talents to another level. You ever notice how someone like Chris Brown never vocally improves between albums. Usher's jump from My Way to 8701 to Confessions was evidence of how seriously he took his craft at that point in his career. He was already dope as a youngin, but he just took it to another level.

U Don't Have To Call
U Remind Me
U Got It Bad
I Don't Know
Hottest Thing
Good Ol Ghetto
Can U Help Me

Or

Throwback
Yeah
Confessions I and II
Can U Handle It
Do It To Me
That's What It's Made For
Seduction

I mean, this is really unfair . Such dope work. Ima roll wit Confessions as my final answer for today tho, and it's a photo finish.

I wish Usher would go back to making great music and stop following trends. He wasted years tryna do that euro pop ish because it was hot. And he spends a lot of time making songs now that just don't seem to match him, thematically speaking. I hate to see him waste that voice and those performance skills on these wack songs these producers/writers have been giving him. He lost his whole swag that he used to carry on the track. Like his rap verse on Seduction...that's like My Way Usher. It seemed natural. Now, his swag is a lot more contrived. I'm getting off topic, but yeah...Usher dropped two bangers with these albums. Appreciated :pimp:
