What's up dudes,

I spent a couple of minutes deciding what to name the thread, but couldn't really think of anything more solid so excuse me if it sounds confusing/awkward

I've been on NT since the early 2000s and the vibe back then was a bit different. Dudes were more willing to help out and network. I still remember local cats would pick me up to go get kicks because I was in the 9-10th grade then and didn't have a car. Fast forward to this day at age 29, I still keep in touch with a handful of dudes I met on here, close and afar. Ironically enough, some of them became my closest friends. We no longer talk about kicks, but about career and life goals.

I became an optimist in life during the last several years and never looked back. I cut out all the friends who were negative and only keep in touch with those with positive energy. Life gets tough sometimes and I think you need a good support team of friends to hold you down, and of course reciprocate appropriately. When it comes to this..it's quality over quantity easily.

With that said, I know there are a lot of cool folks on here. I'm not sure if this idea will catch on or not, but it would be awesome to bring the old vibe back to the board. Cats within the area would link up for summits. I'm in the greater Los Angeles area....I'm always down to to link up with members to talk about kicks/careers/personal goals/life/etc. and network.

It would be dope if dudes in other areas would do the same thing because you can never find enough good friends.

Edit: I see some folks are interested. I guess we can keep it simple, and just state your location in your post. That way other cats in the area can PM you directly and take it offline or you guys can start a mini conversation in the thread if you want to get a group meet/summit type action going on.

Dallas ..

I dont run the city... But have a pretty good grasp and know some professionals...

Most of which can within the past handful of months.

And I can get you some yambs.

I think 3 years is enough to get a solid grasp of a city.

Been here 2.5... Thinking about trying to make moves after 4.

LA is really intriguing to me. That and Atlanta.

Pushing myself to get into the Pharma industry.  Did a relative complete 360 of what I was going to school for, but now I know what I really want to have my career in.  Anybody in the industry please hit me up.  Also located in NY.

I did biotech for 6 months and left because I didn't like it. The firm is an international player in pharma. Everything is so structured there's no room for creativity.

NYC based, have finance/fashion experience, down to meet with anyone.
Dang man. We have the same interests but on diff coasts. Lol.

You don't like Dallas? Dallas, H-town, and ATL were calling me since high paying jobs were out there and homes are affordable.

LA is nice, but homes are $.

Dont know that Id help anybody but for any of you out there that got a good head on you but dont know what you want to do in terms of a career I advise anyone to look into getting work in the liquor industry.

I always thought I would end up doing law enforcement but life landed me in the liquor business and Ive never looked back.
There are many opportunities in sales, advertising and so many other aspects.

I dont want to get in detail in terms of the company I work for but Im willing to answer any questions you guys have some.
Lucrative business that I wouldve never thought of if I hadnt met a few good people.

At one point of my life, I thought about opening up a bar or some sort.  But because I am Muslim, I refrained from it, and now it's just an after thought.

Hey Wis, can provide me some details about how you got into biotech.  Like what you did for those six months, how you were able to get into the industry, what company you worked/interned for, etc.  You may not have liked it, but I still haven't put a foot in the door yet, so maybe it could be a different experience for me.  I low-key lurk some of the threads you be posting and always check out your blog.  You're very motivational and probably one my favorite NT too look up to.

Hey bro,

Check your PM. Thanks for the kind words. My days of trolling and taking side shots are way behind me. It's all about breaking bread with positive folks now.

This sounds really interesting. If I was in NY, I would def hit you up. One thing I learned post school is that there are so many unique and relatively unknown industries to make money in. I don't drink alcohol, but I do know the profit margin is really high...probably up there with perfume/cologne.
