The 2015 NBA Draft Thread: Draft Day Is Here

Willy Trill is a tough sell for the magic. Vucevic is probably one of their 2-3 proven players and pieces moving forward. Is a he a center you want on a contending team? Maybe not. Maybe you sell high and draft WCS. I don't see the point of trying to fit Vuc at the 4 though. His biggest advantage is pulling slower centers away from the basket. That gets neutralized at 4 somewhat. Orlando should be trying to hit a home run though. High ceiling type guy. They're missing a star type player. So maybe they ignore fit or possible spacing issues and just go BPA.
BPA would be..... :nerd:

probably Porzingis or Winslow, assuming KAT, Okafor, Mudiay, & DLo go 1-4

I like how we all have sort of differing views

Very intriguing draft

If the Lakers go with a guard or a wing - Kobe's going to play 1v1 with him every day until one of them dies or the rooks spirit is broken. Would not recommend for everyone involved.

i mean the idea is, how can they pair okafor and randle together?

They will destroy other teams offensively.

And the idea is that Randle is athletic enough to check PFs to be an average defender. And who knows what Okafor will be if he gives a damn, and is forced to take responsibility on defense.

They'll never be a great defensive pairing, but could be okay enough for how they'll destroy defenses.

And what would a Melo - Okafor pairing be on defense... Perchance?

Okafor would be the 4 and I can't see him playing the 5. Melo can play with him, Okafor is too talented. It isn't like having a washed up Stoudemire down there.

Okafor and Randle will be great offensively. Just the defense, Idk.

i can talk about the draft all day

i love how many different angles you can take to speculate who goes where

I like Hezonja on the Magic. Oladipo-Payton-Hezonja-Gordon-Vucevic would be fast, athletic and with a ton of potential. Gordon was a tremendous defensive player in college. I see no reason why he can't play that 4 spot for them. He could be basically exactly what Draymond has been for the Warriors.

Putting the cart before the horse, but Orlando just feels like it's gradually chipping away at a Nuggets-like future (DEN from a few years ago).

Obviously, they are FAR distance away from the 57 wins or No. 3 seed (what that Nuggets core topped out at), but the Magic have several players (Payton, Oladipo, jury's out on Gordon, and whoever they select in this year's draft - maybe they'd be included) who you could envision as the third best player on a team that's contending when they eventually reach their peak.

I just want to see a Elf, Dipo, Winslow, Gordon season for selfish reasons....

The defense, the transition, the hustle, the athleticism, the interchangeability. :x :x Truly positionless basketball

90PPG

Stan Van need Super Mario.... Super Mario NEEDS Stan Van.
