The 2015 NBA Draft Thread: Draft Day Is Here

I want Lakers to grab Russel at 2. Don't even care which way T'wolves go.

So if the Wolves pick Okafor at 1 then you wouldn't want Towns at 2? I really do think that's what's gonna end up happening. Then Russell for us at 3 and the Knicks are a wild card at 4.

My only fear is that the Lakers will hold Russell for ransom forcing us to give up 3rd and other picks. That would be such a troll move by Mitch.

so much this.

It has benefitted the young men and the teams.

What are you talking about. How did this benifit the Harrisons.
because they would have been out the league quick..at least they got a chance to get a degree. I'm talking all young kids not just them.

I guess they would have been ok since they would have been drafted high and got their $$. But all those hs kids who went undrafted all these years were sol or playing for peanuts in some other league

cmon bruh you cant belive this nonsense. aaron harriso may not get drafted period. they both might be non guaranteed second rounders.

2 years of credits for a fake degree aint worth. 2 years of 1st round money.

Mudiay is a great athlete but I don't think he's John Wall level, that dude is just a different level of fast twitch.

What's crazy is that the most athletic PG's in the history of the game are all in the league right now in their 20's with Russ/Wall/Rose.

Agreed. I think he can be a Curry-esqe type of player. Not AS good of a shooter but still a very good one.

1. Manu is a hall of famer. so Russel even reachin that ceiling is unlikley let alone curry.

2. the difference between a good shooter like Russel and a the greatest shooter to EVER LIVE. is rather large. I think comparing anyone to Curry is folly.

See, I hate statements like this cause its basically dismissing the fact that players can't develop and become one of the greatest. Years ago I'm sure people were saying the same thing about Curry, and now he is considered to be the greatest and if not one of the greatest shooters ever.

Curry carried a team full of nobodies to the Elite 8. Russell barely got his team past VCU. Russell will never be on Curry's level. Can Russell be a good pro? Sure, but he won't ever be as good as the greatest shooter of all time.

But you're overestimating the true amount of outliers.

Just how many players have developed to Curry's level besides him?

Exactly.

You say that with such confidence. So you're basically sayin Russell has NO chance at reaching Curry's level? I agree that Russell will never be a great a shooter as Curry, but to just out right say he has no chance at becoming a player of Curry's level is premature. The kid pretty much has it all besides elite athleticism.

Curry didn't even win the SoCon after he came back for his final year, went 5-18 in the conf title game against College of Charleston to boot. So comparing teams holds literally no weight.

When comparing him to Curry I mean as an overall player, shot maker and shooter...not meaning that I think he's going to be as good as a shooter as him (even though I already stated that in the original post).

also Dangelo Russell wasn't some extreme dead eye shooter in high school, he shot 41% at OSU but only 75% from the line.

I think he's a really good shooter. but closer to Manu Harden than a Cury or even a jimmer level shooter.

I love Russel, my favorite player in the draft but has plenty of questions.

Referencing that Elite 8 run is pointless.

You remember KD's tourney appearance with Texas? That comparison holds absolutely no weight.

but I meant in general tho.. good for some kids. A lot were going undrafted and screwing themselves in the long run.

Charley Walters @Charley_Walters 1m
Timberwolves could package draft pick Nos. 31 and 35 to move back into 1st round to take either of point guards Tyus Jones or Jerian Grant
