The 2015 NBA Draft Thread: Draft Day Is Here

I never seen so much hype over a workout vid, lemme repeat that we talking about a workout vid, this dude wasnt great in college like AD but after 1 workout vid we are comparing him to arguably the best bigman we have today

Stop it yall...
KAT was great in his own right. If he was on a team like St John's they probsbly make a sweet 16 or elite 8 run on his back. But I need to see more of this in a game. He's probably not going to ever be on AD's level but he'll be a great player.

No love for Mirotic?

Guess it comes down to the battle of Tony Snell vs. Dougie to battle for those 6 points a game :rolleyes

Mirotic is a 4 in today's NBA. He really only played 3 because he ended up being pretty damn good and they needed to find time for him. It's like playing any really good stretch 4 at SF - sure they can do it. They're talented enough to get away with it. But if they're losing their speed advantage and not dragging a big out of the paint - they lose a lot of their value.

Exactly why you workout for teams, unless you are the sure lock number 1 pick, like Blake, John, Derrick, Kyrie, Lebron

In this draft I dont see any player as the for sure number 1 pick

In all likelihood - those teams are working him out in case they trade down to 3 through 5. If either Minnesota or LA picks Mudiay, they should be contracted immediately.

I dont think KAT or Jah are that good, to say that, imo KAT, Jah, Mudiay, and Russell are a toss up on whose gonna be better this season

Mudiay, Russell, or Embiid for Roy

nope Mudiay will be a Knick and go on to average 15-5-7 in his rookie year. he'll then accept the RoY award after the Knicks beat the Pacers in the 1st round. then he'll step up his game in round 2 with a hurt Demarre Carroll & average 18-6-9 and help clinch an ECF berth. then Melo will take down LebLeb and they'll beat OKC in the Finals. then i'll be drunk for 5 days straight.

i gotta go to bed

Gentlemen's bet of $150

Winslow at number 4 would be a good pick up I think... but how does his game complement Melo's?

I don't believe Carmelo has a future with NY long term... I just don't for some reason.

Mudiay (that's if the rumors are true)
Okafor
Towns
Winslow

If the Knicks start playing Melo at the 4 (like they should) Justice is a great fit next to him.

Mudiay/Russell may be comparable to Jah/Towns in terms of actual performance but their values are on different tiers. You trade down and pick up something extra for your trouble if your the Lakers/Wolves and you want Russell/Mudiay.

You gotta grab Mudiay just off the fact you can sign a really good 3 for a decent price and you can't really do that with a 1.

Lol I think it's the exact opposite. There's a ton of good PGs out there. While most wings are specialists. But if I were in the top 10, I wouldn't be thinking about that when making my pick

Just looking at it from this year's free agency class. Aminu at 7-10'million per with Mudiay > Dragic at 15+ per and Winslow.

Out of all these 1s available this year I really would only want Beveerly and his ceiling is nowhere near Muddy's.

KAT good as AD? nope

damn good center in the league? yes

Pretty much.

I'm not comparing anybody to AD, dude came in shooting 33% on midrange jumpers and in his 3rd year is up to around 50%, he's just different.

I'm excited to see KAT develop as well though, crazy to think that over the last 7 or so years Cal has had.....

Rose
Reke
Wall
Bledsoe
Boogie
T Jones
Knight
Kanter
AD
MKG
Randle
WCS
KAT

Man what?

And will likely have the #1 overall pick in the 2016 draft

Aminu shouldn't be a starter. And shouldn't get paid like that

He can be a starter easily

I would give him 7 mill a year tops though
he's 24 and really developing well. he's a starter on a team where he needs to do the little things. defend, rebound, hit the open shot. at 7 mill per that's solid value. basically a cheaper, younger demare carroll, not as refined but has the potential to be just as good or better.

Didn't know Kristaps english was so good.. I hope he can do good things in this league.. he can become great with his skillset or he can become a bust like a lot of those overseas guys
