The 2015 NBA Draft Thread: Draft Day Is Here

Hinkle hasn't really made one bad decision yet. Everything he's done has been at least defensible.

Would be crazy if Kris became the best player in the draft years down the line

Man I wish the Knicks can somehow get another first rounder.

Nah I'm kidding. Just wanted to give hypebeast a heart attack for a second

Yo I'm hearing the Wiz are thinking of trading Real Deal Beal to move up in the draft to take Kristaps

Dont say stuff like that, i would honestly have to stop watching these dudes

I have faith they wont do that, cause at the same time they didnt trade Beal for Harden so i have a hard time they would do it for Kris

Edit: That troll attempt raised my heart rate for a few

I'm having a hard time believing they're considering that. Not that Kristaps is affected by anybody else's experience in the NBA, and you hope front offices don't think like this because each player is their own being, but the Wizards are a team that just went through one of the biggest Euro nightmares in recent memory: the Jan Vesley nightmare.

There are only six players to be drafted in the Top-6 and exit the NBA within three years. Five if you exclude Len Bias, which, you should but the list where I read about this didn't.

Vesley shouldn't affect their thinking if we're taking emotions out of it, but it's hard to imagine being in their spot and having Beal on the block for Kristaps if that just happened to you.

if he drafts a guard this year, I can understand what Hinkie is doing. But if he drafts another big to add to Embiid, Noel and Saric, I'm completely lost unless 1 guy gets dealt for a guard. Philly needs a guard big time.

Javale sucks mane...nobody wants that headache on the team for a draft pick  ...and you can't really judge the MCW trade until you see what they do at the guard position this draft/offseason ...n as far as mcdaniels I think they figured they might lose him in free agency so might as well get something for him

Giving up Mcdaniels, and MCW for nothing, cutting Javale, at least coulda got a second rounder for him and i can go farther back but im eating atm, but explain those for now

They didn't get anything in the MCW trade though?

You really want a list?
I'm waiting.

McDaniels - Hinkie didn't want to re-sign a guy for more than he thought he was worth. Got back a second rounder and look at Canaan.
MCW - Got back a likely lottery pick for MCW, who's solid but flawed. Once they figured out who he likely was, decided to recycle for a new asset.
Javale -

MCW trade will look just fine if they draft a point guard this year. It was a calculated risk at the time with the Lakers winning just enough games to need Silver to freeze their balls.

Russell/Mudiay
RoCo
Saric
Noel
Embiid

nice young core & potential playoff team if they all pan out

"But MCW was rookie of the YEAR!"

#RekeHavoc had its own wing at the state capitol at one point too. The Sixers got rid of the ROY of one of the weakest draft classes in NBA history at the time of his highest value, in all likelihood. Once those ROY memories begin fading soon he'll still not be able to shoot from 10 feet and out.

I can't defend the K.J. McDaniels trade though.

And they have the Lakers pick next year as well.  Im assuming they will have 2 lotto picks next year so they shouldn't have a problem filling any holes in their positions.

So what pick did Philly get for MCW again? To my knowledge they were supposed to get LA's pick if LA fell outside the top 5 this year.

The only franchise changing piece they have acquired in the last couple years is Embiid and they held him back to get the pick they gt now

And if they happen to Draft Russell dude isnt a franchise changer he can be a solid player tho, I wouldn't be suprised if they deal him at the deadline
