The 2015 NBA Draft Thread: Draft Day Is Here

I wonder if Phil has the wisdom and/or balls to trade Melo away and do a complete rebuild

My short answer would be no

it's not like Melo is 35 with a broken down body and style of play that relies on athleticism. he'll be fine and continue to score 20 a game over the course of this contract. i'm not worried one bit.

Willing to bet my life savings that the Knicks never do anything relevant if they keep Melo.

Dolan ain't signing off on that regardless. Knick's made their bed win they re-singed him to that deal. Hope they get Jah or Russell. Don't know how Melo would deal with Russell having the ball in his hands so much.

Being that it's the East, anything's possible. If the Knicks were in the West, I'd be right there with you

If they go to a non conference playoffs, welp

Flashback to the Iverson-Melo Nuggets days

Winslow with the 1st pick , that tourney hype

But Phil ain't interested in a long term rebuild plus you gotta remember that they know the east is week ...if they draft the right player , sign a good player that fits the team n melo is healthy the Knicks r def in the mix for the 6th to 8th spot in the East next year

That's asking a lot from the Knicks but it's still def possible

Melo is a elite scorer & thats all hes good for , idk why ppl expect him to be a lebron or playmaker

dantoni tried to make him a point forward & failed, hes most effective taking less than 3 dribbles or spotting up, we seen what he can do with the right supporting cast (09,13)
We'll see if the Knicks can get support players like a Billups, Nene, Birdman and KMart.. and a spark 6th man like JR Smith

Easier said than done

Good point

Still, I'm not trying to wrap all my money up in Melo and Love. I do think Love redeems himself after he leaves Cleveland though

Keep telling yall that Jahlil = Demarcus Cousins. Except in better shape and even more polished at the same stage. Brook Lopez is incredibly slow, and stiff. But Yall just want the slowest, scoring non defensive bigs so that's why the Jefferson/Lopez comparisons keep popping up lol.

You would be foolish to take Winslow in the top 3. You could be looking at a better shooting MKG.

I think the question was his "floor"

I think he's at least as good as Brook RIGHT NOW and could be Boogie at his "ceiling."

I think a better shooting MKG is incredibly valuable in todays NBA. Plus he's got that dog in him and could make him great

Okafor = Cousins? :lol:

Don't see Okafor ever being able to do what Boogie did last night.

Don't like the cousins comparison at all but I'm not a scout ....I don't think of cousins when I watch him play

Can okafor even hit consistent shots from 10-15?

Agreed that Winslow has value, but you take that type of player mid to late in the lottery. Not top 3.
