The 2015 NBA Draft Thread: Draft Day Is Here

Did KG quit on the T-Wolves? When a player is aging and is stuck on a terrible team, but hasn't got a ring, people want to see the win at least one.

Melo is 31 yrs old, on a perennial lottery team. No one would say he quit EXCEPT Knicks fans. Most NBA fans wanted to see him leave. Re-signing with the Knicks, all but guaranteed a ringless career. We clown CP0 for no conference final apps, but Melo can't get in the playoffs.

....and plzzzzzz don't sell me the "free agents" and "buying into Phil's plan." I'm not Melo, I can see the jig.
Apples and Oranges.

Melo force a trade to go home. He sticking around to give his team a chances to build.

KG was drafted by the Twolves he have them all the time in the world.

Sticks to facts B.

Patrick Ewing never won a ring but he didn't abandon ship and is a Legend in NY and amongst NBA savy people.

Sticks t Facts B.

PS Most NBA fans wanted him to bounce to the bull so they would pose a serious thread to Bron and the Cavs. Why would any BB fan would want Melo to leave in order for him to win a ring when all they do is bash the dude for selfish play and no D. Don't come here trying to fool people .. We knows better b.

and the 1 year he had a good team around him in NY he won 54 games and would've been in the ECF if Tyson Chandler didn't get abused by Roy Hibbert.

Miss me with that garbage, you just don't like the dude and for whatever reason you dudes love taking shots at the Knicks whenever you can. It's pathetic how much y'all care about a team that wins once every 10 years.

Melo is 31 on a lottery team, LeBron was 25 on the #1 team in the East and had a Finals apperance.....

Why are you comparing the two? Totally different situations.
You're right, I shouldnt compare the 2. Lebron is far more of a quitter for leaving Cleveland than Melo would have been for leaving NY. And then leaving Miami.

I'm not going to front and act like there wasnt financial factors involved, I'm not ignorant. Both the contract and for his brand. NY made sense in that regard. But it isnt in Melo's DNA to quit.

The way some of yall turn that around on Melo completely, and act like there was no loyalty factor involved. No wanting to stick it out through thick and thin win one for the moribund franchise he forced his way to. The loyal to a fault fan base that has embraced him, and will turn him into a ******* God if he can win even one championship here. It's crazy really. All I can really do is hope that Melo is able to change your unreal perceptions one of these days.  But whatever. Back to the draft.

Melo spent his first ten years in the west at its peak and turned a lottery team, a god awful lottery team, into a perennial playoff team. But hey, go ahead and hate on Melo.

That was 6 seasons ago, which is telling in itself.

To be fair, Melo came into a bad situation in New York. He was expecting to have a healthy Amar'e Stoudamire on the team who was having an MVP type season and Chris Paul was in the pipeline as well.

When Amar'e got hurt again, and Tyson Chandler was signed ruining any chance to get CP3--Melo was forced to carry the burden of the team. The 2011-2012 when the Knicks won 53 game was off pure veteran leadership and playing with a system. Melo has shown he can be great with the right pieces surrounding him.

NT just bashes Melo because a few guys in the media does it and people here follow suit.

There's two types of people in the world--Sheep and Shepard's. Most people here are sheep.

If the Sixers screw this draft up, I am proposing they trade the franchise to Seattle at the trade deadline

Sixers going to draft Russell anyway? :nerd:

You guys think Russell comes out during draft night and tells Philly not to draft him if he hasn't been picked up after the 2nd pick?

BTW, what's the story with Mudiay? Has he fallen down the board because of poor workouts or something?

Apparently teams are surprised he's not a good shooter yet. Knicks need him, he's the second best prospect in this draft.
Sources: Sixers Exploring Options To Move Into Late First Round
The Philadelphia 76ers are exploring options to move into the back end of the first round, according to multiple sources. Members of the Sixers front office reached out to several agents representing front court players on Monday afternoon, inquiring about the projected availability of multiple fringe first-round big men.

After yielding their own 2015 second round pick to the Boston Celtics, the Sixers will have to wait four selections in the second round before having an opportunity to scoop a high-upside prospect like Jerami Grant at Nos. 35 and 37. If there's a prospect Sam Hinkie is especially interested in that he feels will not be available at 35, packaging those two selections or No. 35 and and other future picks, would be the easiest way to guarantee a chance at drafting said player.

The notion that the Sixers are interested in front court players at the end of the first round or beginning of the second round certainly makes sense. While Philadelphia is positioned longterm to build around Joel Embiid and Nerlens Noel down low, Brett Brown's roster lacks established rotation big men off the bench, with unproven Furkan Aldemir as the only reserve big man currently under contract.

Potential front court targets for the Sixers towards the end of the first round and early second round are Jonathan Holmes (Texas), Richaun Holmes (Bowling Green), Jordan Mickey (LSU), Rakeem Christmas (Syracuse), Jarrell Martin (LSU) and Cliff Alexander (Kansas).

bruh ... Sixers getting that pogizinis .. Russ end up with Knicks unless picked up by Lakers then okafor to sixers Knicks trade down and end up with WCS/Kamisky ... Just don't think Phil likes Mudaiy

Russell never said he didn't want to play in Philly. That must have been cooked up by the much media.

Right after the lottery he said he'd play there and he just worked out there. You don't work out for a team you don't want to play for. Case in point, Mudiay refused to work out for Sacramento.

he cancelled that workout because he was sick so you know how things go

Who realistically could put together a nice package for Boogie?

Orlando (Oladipo/Vucevic)
Cle (Love/Moz)
Suns (Knight/Morris Twins)
Raps (Valucianas/Derozan)

Some of those suck but just off the top of my head...

I don't think there's any chance that the Sixers take Zinger. The one wild card I could see you them picking is Hezonja.
