The 2015 NBA Draft Thread: Draft Day Is Here

Keep telling yall that Jahlil = Demarcus Cousins. Except in better shape and even more polished at the same stage. Brook Lopez is incredibly slow, and stiff. But Yall just want the slowest, scoring non defensive bigs so that's why the Jefferson/Lopez comparisons keep popping up lol.

You would be foolish to take Winslow in the top 3. You could be looking at a better shooting MKG.
Uh, we were talking about Jahil's floor

Cousins is a monster in the paint, a true BULLY. Do you ever see Jahil being that type of player? Jahil is more of a finesse style player compared to Cousins who is more powerful

MKG comparison is a big thing...for a non shooting mfer that dude is so valuable for the hornets  team ain't **** when he hurt

Don't like the cousins comparison at all but I'm not a scout ....I don't think of cousins when I watch him play

Can okafor even hit consistent shots from 10-15?
I think eventually Okafor could become a consistent pick and pop player, right now he isn't

Ohh ok...wasn't sure cause it seems like I've never seen him take those shots. I like okafor game though :pimp:

Yes.

I've seen Jahlil go straight THROUGH defenders multiple times. His finesse and skill makes you forget that. That's why I said he's more polished at this stage because he doesn't rely on bullying, like DMC did at the same stage. Cousins has some good finesse now.

Not really forgetting, more like projecting how he would fare against NBA big men. I don't see Jahil overpowering defenders consistently

Cousins has skill and finesse AS WELL but I'm just saying I don't agree that they are the same type of big men nor will the ever be

I'd love to see this happen as far as "best fit"

Okafor- New York
Russell- Minny
Mudiay-Philly
Winslow/Towns-LA
WCS/WInslow-Orlando

We're talking about true FULL potential here... but why can't Winslow be Pippen 2.0?

I think his full potential is Kawhi Leonard. But I understand what your saying. To be Scottie 2.0 means EVERYTHING has to go right for him, along with developing a great handle, becoming a point forward, a better athlete, post up threat, and one of the best defenders/players to ever lace em up.

Reasonable ceiling is Kawhi Leonard.

I see what your saying. Hard to project strength and post success early on though. For example...

Cousins struggled early because he relied on over powering bigs. And when he couldn't get past the big or get deep position, he'd settle for an 18footer. This is why such a bully around the basket was turnover prone and shooting 42% from the field 3 years in.

He lost weight, worked on his inside game, and developed a 15-18 footer. Opened things up for him.

Brook Lopez couldn't handle the ball and get up the floor like Jahlil in his damn dreams.

He's also WAY further advanced in his post game than Cousins was at this stage.

Pretty much all I've been saying in short.

Good point. Winslow will be a better shooter. I don't know if he can develop the ball handling that Pip did especially later on in his career, or be the post threat although he has the body to do so.

So would you take Kawhi Leonard top 3 in this draft?

Hopefully Jahil becomes a better rebounder than Lopez, I think Jahil should not dip below 8 per

well he's pretty mediocre on the defensive boards right now.

and rebounding statistically tends to be one of those things that translate directly from college to pro's.

no.

go watch more brook lopez.

Healthy Brook is an excellent ball handler and incredibly fluid and mobile for 7-1 260+

How many 7 footers are going to beat a dud off the dribble from just inside the 3 point line, without getting stripped like Brook does at 19 second mark.

Brook isn't any less ahtletic or mobile than Jahlil, the ball handling is comparable. they are quite similar, Jahlil lacks Brooks range.

I think thats where most of the Brook Lopez comparisons stem from "great in the post, mediocre rebounder."

Al Jefferson/Zbo/Gasol/Boogie are double/double machine every night consistent on the boards and above average defenders which Okafor will have to work towards.

That clip did nothing to prove the ball handling point

That clip did nothing for me man lol. I've seen Robin Lopez catch from the foul line one dribble and get to the cup.

Don't see it.
