let's start our own grantland. pm me my contract detailsThat's coolio....I hope Towns (or whomever decides this for him) doesn't opt to be a 3 point shooter in the league. I want to see 7ft dudes dominate in the paint.
JohnnyRed, aren't you part of the media?hey I quit BR after they refused to give me a job after leading me on for 2 years that a position would be in the pipelineYeah. He's been angling for a job at Bleacher Report. That's coolio....I hope Towns (or whomever decides this for him) doesn't opt to be a 3 point shooter in the league. JohnnyRed, aren't you part of the media?End of the day I am and will always be a writer. I'm not nor ever will count myself as a member of the media. Just a guy that likes analyzing sports through the written and spoken word.
might have to unless we get one of these NTers pushing an M3 while wearing da Jesus piece to fund usyou trying pull a bleacher report on me?
Like OKB said, the right team with the right system can let Okafor be successful in today's NBA.
It might not be the best fit for every team and might take a little more patience, but a big man that skilled? You pick him and try to figure it out.
I personally just like KAT better, but if the Knicks had the #2 and wound up with Okafor, I would have been thrilled.
And Knicks fans are upset because it's just such a classic Knicks thing to have happened. They win a couple meaningless games down the stretch, they're the one to move further back in the draft, and miss out on one of the big men who they desperately need. If they end up with Mudiay, he'll fill a great need for the team and it'll be a positive step in the right direction.
can't wait to see NT call Mudiay a bust then salivate over him in 4 years word to John Wall.
DO IT FLIP!! Take Jah."You can have a better three-point shooting team by having a force down low." In reference to Okafor.
"All the reports that said Towns was an inch taller than Okafor, but Okafor looked like he was two inches taller than Towns."
"The question you ask yourself is D'Angelo a combination of Steph Curry and James Harden. That's the MVP and the runner-up for MVP right there."

You really can't understand why someone would prefer their team get the number 1 pick over number 4?russy westbrook/cp/conley

its more about the face of the nba and both those guys have different tools that effect wins and loses , if okafur ends up being al jefferson/brook Lopez he might not ever lead a team solo into the playoffs but someone like Tim Duncan/Marc Gasol projects better in the NBA for a team looking to win playoff a playoff series or two .There is no similarity between Mudiay and Exum. There was zero footage of Exum
I do however don't take a high school career as my 100%, number 1 indicator of where they should go in the NBA draft
For instance, you bring up Okafor being seen as a clear top pick coming into the college season. I THOUGHT THE SAME THING as well but I did change my mind once Towns started doing his thing. Does that mean I "put too much stock into one year of college ball"? So be it, I'll take Towns #1 and not look back. There are a lot of INTELLIGENT folks who have Towns as #1 and not Okafor. Do they put too much stock into one year of college ball too?
http://grantland.com/the-triangle/behind-the-scenes-of-the-nba-draft-lottery/There is another layer of absurdity that follows, when you watch a TV show build suspense around results you already know. We gathered around the TV, anticipating the reaction of Knicks GM Steve Mills when New York popped up at no. 4 — two spots below its starting place. When Mills despaired, pockets of the room erupted in laughter.
