The 2015 NBA Draft Thread: Draft Day Is Here

Let me start the I wouldn't take Okafor over Towns or Russell train up right now.

Rubio/Wiggins/Towns

Rubio/Wiggins/Okafor

Either one I'd be fine heading into the future with.

So if you're the Sixers and you get the #1 pick....what do you do with MCW, Embiid, Noel and Saric (coming over next year)? Atleast one would need to be moved to make room for Okafor, Towns or Mudiay.

Hinkie will take the best available.

Yeah I agree...but what I'm asking is because of that what would you do if you were him with those other pieces that wouldn't fit. I would definitely move Noel over Embiid if it came down to it...but would Okafor fit next to Embiid?

Can't rationalize Mudiay over Russell in my mind. Especially if you're going to take a risk on another big guard who struggles with shooting and turnovers. However, he's a high caliber of athlete than MCW. I think Brett Brown would love Russell.

How does Russell fare on defense? I haven't watched much of him so I can't give much of an opinion on taking him.

Mixed bag, had the tools to be a good defender, just doesn't give effort all the time, hard to tell how much of that is fatigue from carrying ohio entire offence.

He's smart though and is in the right spots genrally good coaching should make him a solid defender.

you take Russell.

I'll preface by saying I haven't seen him play so this is a fluid opinion: Due to playing against CBA competition and in all likelihood -- not carrying the complete unknown, unicorn-type hype that Exum garnered last June -- Emmanuel Mudiay will have value come draft time. I could see a scenario where 2-3 teams pass only because they don't want to be the team that bought in if it goes to ****.

That's the unfortunate mentality some of these bad general managers have. They were bad from the outset, and it snowballs when the subsequent result is being frightened of making 'another' mistake. A self-fulfilling prophecy; takes away their gut feeling(s).

My top 3 (right now)

Okafor

KAT

Russell

....but they're very close and I'd listen to an argument for any other order.

Pretty sure everyone has these 3.

Mudiay/Stanley the next pair, and WCS likely nearby in terms of eventual selection.

I'm mad at myself I didn't start this thread earlier. I posted so many articles and videos in the Lakers thread.

Mudiay becoming a little underrated on this board he's the same caliber prospect as Towns,Russel, Okafor.

I'm about ready for steady with Stanley Johnson. 6-foot-7, can shoot it from beyond the arc, workable FT%, explosive athlete.
