The 2015 NBA Draft Thread: Draft Day Is Here

Would you guys rather have Embiid and Noel or Towns and WCS for the next 10 years?

I had some with the the trade machine:
Nuggets get: Trey Burke, Gerald Wallace, #14
The Nuggets start their rebuild by dealing away the disgruntled Lawson to the Kings. Burke has been inconsistent in his first two years, but he can still be salvaged, I think. They also get#14 from the Jazz and Wallace, who is an expiring contract. Could the Nuggets combine #7 and #14 to move up in the draft?

Jazz get: Darren Collison, Tyler Zeller or Kelly Olynyk
The Jazz played well in the second half of the season, despite poor point guard play. Dante Exum was understandably not ready for starter's minutes, so the Jazz trade for Collison to be a stop-gap starting point guard until Exum is ready. They also get a useful big man in either Zeller or Olynyk to further strengthen their frontcourt.

Kings get: Ty Lawson, #16
The Kings want to make a run for the playoffs, so they deal away the #6 pick to the Celtics and get back Lawson and #16. Lawson has experience running George Karl’s offense and reportedly wants a change of scenery. With #16, the Kings can still draft a defensive prospect like Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

Celtics get: #6, Jason Thompson or Carl Landry
With a treasure trove of assets, the Celtics deal away #16, the expiring contract of Wallace and one of Zeller or Olynyk for #6, to use on a much needed rim protector in Willie Cauley-Stein. With the departure of Zeller/Olynyk and Brandon Bass, this trade starts Danny Ainge’s run at Kevin Love in free agency this summer.
I would like this, just not sure the Jazz would say yes.

The point was which duo would you take

OH lol read it wrong I rather have the Kentucky Boys Towns and WCS

Dude's shooting motion flows like a river.

I don't care about elite athleticism. It really doesn't matter as much as people think it does. Kidd, Nash, and T. Parker are all tremendous examples of this. All three are HoF players because they know the game of basketball, make smart plays, and emphasize their best qualities. If a PG can't shoot in this league, he won't last long. That's not an indictment on Mudiay at all. Just making the case that Russell is a more complete player who's weaknesses aren't as much a detriment as Mudiay's and thus why Philly needs to draft him.

He'd also run a great PNR game with Embiid and Noel which is especially great for Noel who needs help scoring the ball anyway.

I would go Russell over Mudiay but your logic is a little off. Prime Kidd and TP were elite (or close) athletes with shaky jumpshots. Kidd was big enough to post up all 1s and guard 2-3s. Also had great end to end speed until his last couple years. TP has been one of the faster players in the league since he got drafted too. Athleticism isn't just dunking. I think that's important to consider with all draft prospects. It's how dudes like Derrick Williams get vastly overrated.

speaking of athletes i'll never understand how Aaron Gordon was such a highly rated prospect

Well I'll admit my judgement is a little distorted on Kidd since I was born the same year he was drafted.

And I forgot Parker had to develop that jump shot.

And when I think "elite athlete" I think Kyrie, Westbrook, Rose, Wall. I never think Parker but again, I was young when he came into the league.

 yeah it's tough to gauge athleticism with freaks of nature like Westbrook, LBJ, Rose, DeAndre Jordan around

@DWolfsonKSTP: Hear Apple Valley's Tyus Jones had to cut his #Rockets workout today short. His back tightened up. Nonetheless, they are fans. So is Dallas.

Dallas loves undersized backup PG's

They make some of the world's greatest ball players look like average dudes at my gym. When you think about the talent level of those "average dudes" and how hard it is to even ride the bench in the league, you come to realize how insanely gifted and skilled those guys are. Just mind shattering.

I think Winslow gonna be the 3rd / 4th player out this draft when it's all said and done.
Justise Winslow is the name folks will regret passing on if he's chosen anywhere out of the top 4. If it were in my hands and my Knicks couldn't get Russell or KAT, I'm taking Winslow. Built like a tank at the age of 19. Offense and defense. A motor you can't teach. He's going to be a star. Bet on it. Mudiay cool but as someone said earlier his floor is as low as his ceiling is high.

I may be way off but tyus jones reminds me of a Shane larkin. Alex Kennedy told me on Twitter last night R. Upshaw who I've been thinking was gonna be a sleeper w issues but he said he could go undrafted. Mocks still have him last 1st. any chance harrell from Louisville can become a Ron artest type player?

Just watched Grantland's Kristaps short/episode 1 ... ( if you haven't checked it out yet, I'm sure it's been through here):

Chad Ford: "I think if he had played at Kentucky, Duke, or whatever, we'd be talk about him in the same sentences that we're talking about Karl Anthony-Towns or Jahlil Okafor as the No. 1 pick in the draft." Hmm

Fran Frischilla: "Kris Porzingis is going in the top 5, because it's hard to pass on a player with this much size and ability, and also projecting out room for imporvement because of his age ... "strength and physical maturity as a young man who will play his rookie year in the NBA has a 20-year-old is certainly a big factor, and that will hinder his development early on. Once he adds 15-20-25 lbs. to the 220-lb frame he has now, he has a chance to be a real standout player in the league."

His brother: "I think he scored his first basket when he was 11-months-old."

Dude's draped in Jordan gear.

He was pumping 20lb weights?

Look at the defense/facial expression by that dude in the last basketball highlight of the video.

Was in the gym today playing against PJ Tucker and dude is a absolute tank and dumb athlete. I mean 6'5 240 in open gym. :x

And he's a avg joe and undersize in the league. I started thinking Bron, KD, Russ and Wall are insane.
