The 2015 NBA Draft Thread: Draft Day Is Here

You can't see this while their in college.
You can see more based on one year in college and one in high school than you can based on one in high school.

Doesn't mean you can make a definitive answer about whether they're going to be good or not...  But it's not all or nothing.

He got what he wanted against FK. He missed quite a few easy ones, but let's not act like FK d'ed him up. That dropstep in the end where he hugged him and okafor still got the and 1 shows why he will be the number 1 pick. Also, he played pretty good defense on FK outside of a few possessions, no doubt FK got him on some, but that bailout call when okafor ripped FK with all ball to get Okafor his 3rd :x

should be no age restriction
adam silver, make the switch back

am i crazy to say devin booker is probably gonna be the best uk player in the league out of that group

kids are there to play ball not play school

If everything goes right, can def see Booker being almost like Klay

victor page victor page I'm pretty sure an invitational is different than traveling to El Paso a random weekend to see a "Houston Elite" destroy everyone by 50. Which 95% of the time it is. Glorified rec league.

Back to the point, Okafor won't drop past 3. He's just too good at one important skill

Only way him or towns drop past 2 is if 76ers have a top 2 pick. I really wonder what phi would do if they got the 1st pick :nerd:

I'd say the Sixers would probably trade the pick.

They have Saric-Noel-Embiid at the SF-PF-C positions locked up so they probably have their eyes on Mudiay or Russell with their first pick and Booker or Hezonja with their second 1st rounder.

you trade embiid before noel. nerlens is a stud.

And Embiid is a whole nother level of stud. Dude has the potential to straight up be the best all around big in the league on both sides of the floor. I don't think they'll trade either of them before they see how they play together...but I wouldn't put anything past Hinkie.

embiid hasn't played all year. could very well be another greg oden.

trading embiid to get another lottery pick and drafting okafor may not be a bad look at all.

Ehh...If you were willing to wait for Nerlens Noel...I don't think you ship Embiid without ever seeing him play.

His ceiling is on a completely different level than Noel's.

No way I trade Embiid to get Okafor. Potential between those two is on a completely different level.
Because one more year of being able to see young athletes play means easier decisions about who is good and who is not good.

No one wants to watch struggling 19 year olds who are simply not good and will never be good just because a team had to draft them based on their measurables in senior year of high school.
They've been tracking them since they were 14. No one is forcing them to take the kids if they're allowed to come out of HS. If you evaluate them and don't think that they're going to be good, then don't take them. It's really that simple. This is why these execs get  paid millions of dollars.

You trade embiid with a year of invested time and you don't know what he can do in a game? :\

I'd go 80% keep the pick and draft a G, 15% trade the pick, 5% trade Nerlens.

Hinkie crazy tho

With the MCW trade...I think it's pretty clear Hinkie is targeting Russell and Mudiay.

Also...how the hell do the Rockets have a lottery pick this year?

pelicans from the asik trade i believe

i trade the unknown embiid before the proven noel. either way, philly needs a guard first and foremost.

The same is true with Julius Randle, injury has made him pretty much untouchable.

Blake Griffin is another example. No way they would have traded BG after he cracked his knee

Embiid should probably be one of the most untouchable players in the league right now. He's a better prospect than anyone in this draft. You do not trade him.

Philly's been posting vines of him hitting 3's too...could be crazy good

random but idk if I read this or someone told me because it was 5+ years ago but they were playing summer ball at Virginia Union and Ben Wallace was knocking down 3's in the pick up game

Joel Embiid always look like he's playing on a fisher price hoop. :x

I have no idea how the injuries will workout but his mobility and coordination and his natural aptitude for sports, I'm not trading that lottery ticket.

I was at a Cavs/Knicks game years back at MSG and Ben was cashing shots at a high rate during warm-ups. Even hit a few fadeaways out of post-ups and a few 3s. So I believe this story without a doubt.
