I heard the perks are amazing if you are a infrequent driver. $15 a month plus the hourly rate of the car which ranges 8-16 bucks depending on the vehicle. And they pay for gas and insurance.

Yeah my ex used it since she vary rarely needed a car. They have some nice ones vehicles aswell, got a green BWM before (no marking at a zip car or anything.)

With the trio of Zip car, Car2go and Uber you are pretty set in not needing a car.

why get a monthly-paid membership? unless you need access to a car quite often...

zipcar is great for grocery runs if you don't have a vehicle

last time i checked, they had a pay by use one with an initial sign up fee or did that change?

My boy's been using it for years. It helps on long road trips too as you don't have to worry about adding wear/tear on your own vehicle.

Zip car is great for someone who rolls dolo from state to state

Used it twice this weekend. I don't have a car in SF and use literally everything out here from bus, train, Uber, etc. Used a Zip car to get out of the city 30 miles away. The pros is the amount paid pays for gas and insurance which is the biggest downfall for Uber (and rate hikes). The con is it really can be expensive. Like using a car for 6 hours is close to $80 where you can get a rental for that price at some spots and use it the whole day. I actually think it is better to use in short time spans for whatever reason but with Uber Pool being $5 anywhere in SF, it's hard to beat that. So I just used what I need to use for the situation.

I used it during my early college days. I didn't bring my car with me, and my old university had the zipcar service. It's convenient since the company pays for the gas and the insurance; however, it can be pricey.  If you rent the zipcar the whole day (8-9 hours), it's easily almost $100. I only used it when I went grocery shopping 30 minutes away from my old dorm/apartment. So maybe once every 2 weeks?

relayrides is way better imo.

I had a three month internship in SF and didnt want to buy a car, insurance, etc.

Got a nice car that was 20 a day. Picked it up Mondays early morning from SFO and dropped it off Thursday nights and took caltrain home. Was a little bit more effort but saved a lot of scrills.

Rentals outside of SF are way cheaper. It's just the convenience you are paying for. But I got a rental for like $20 also out in Daily City for a day too. Just didn't get the insurance and paid for a tank of gas.

I liked get around if ur under 25 as only need the vehicles for a vacation.. Only bad thing is going to pick up the vehicle of choice if it isn't located in the union square area of sf
