Halal guys carts coming to Cali >NY

Halal guys fell off imo. Food hasn't tasted as good as it once did for a while now.

Still though, it tastes better at the actual car than it does in the sit down restaurants.

I didnt say it wasnt good
But they are extremely hyped being the pioneers of street halal and all while the food is above average. I will give them credit for not giving me food poisoning as other halal carts have.
 
Had it my first time in Manila the February that just passed. I thought it was a bootleg shop for a bit lol.

I actually liked it. We have one opening on thursday here in Montreal. But will prob only go a week or 2 later to avoid the hipster line.

Def overhyped. There rice and lamb is borderline trash. People that eat from other halal trucks know the real deal.

Cali dudes going crazy for pedestrian level chicken/lamb over rice tho??? :smh: as I said before on nt halal guys are late night drunk food or a quick lunch. It's not that good just cheap eats
 
10 minutes away from Cal State Long Beach. Ima be eating good

But yeah back to the sauce. Ordered extra white sauce slathered all over. Pause. And then ole girl gave me a squirt of red sauce and I wanted to slap the devil out of her. It reminded me of how when you order 137 nuggets and they give you one sauce. Then i tasted it and was like yoooooooo why ya'll do this? Who thought it was a good idea to serve devil tears extract? Like damn chill with the insane heat. The bbq sauce on it was A1 tho. Do Ny carts put bbq sauce onbitnor is that a Cali thing?

Like you said we dont have spots like this everywhere. We have bomb Mexican food, Soul Food and guacamole.

Man it's chicken or lamb and rice with a bbq,hot or white sauce, you don't have that over there?? Good to know ya have should food over there I'll be there this winter I'll try some. Better be on Sylvia's, mannas and Amy Ruth's level

You would have to do some digging for Mediterranean spots over here. They're not everywhere. Our soul food is untouchable tho.
 
the halal guys out here in ca is meh

The red sauce aint that hot but I have a high tolerance level when I comes to spicy food lol

I've been at my current job for 2.5 years and we have two different 85 degree jawns within a 2 mile radius. I have yet to go :lol: well, I went once but realized they don't sell any real food. Just pastries and drinks. Unless I missed something.


Tried Halal guys when I was in NY. Not a big fan.

this chick at my old job kept raving about "lamb n rice" so one day I said I'll go with her to get some ...I messed up n put a lot of both sauces on it n I couldn't do it , dumb hot n it ain't even taste that good :smh: ...never been back :lol:
 
Man I know people who used to go to this every day. It would make me sick :lol:. This is a once in awhile meal
 
One just opened up around the corner from me. Doesn't look any better than what I get from the food trucks. I'll likely try it this weekend. Any recommendations?

in queens there are other late night spots to grub after a night of drinks...in astoria, for example, you got empanada mama or that columbian corner joint on steinway next to ravenshead...

college point, cherry valley.

nyc you got variety. also halal guys aint the only good halal.
 
Man dude that said NT hates everything was on point. Halal guys is fire. Its not a gourmet meal or anything but for 7 bucks its that goods :smokin

That white sauce is just too good whatever the hell it is.
 
I was going to eat at the one in K Town but I walked out when I found out they don't have lamb. I'll just wait till I'm back in NY to get my fix
