"A part of the shoe is irredescent." It's never been specified which part and we just assumed it's the patent leather. If it's an embossed Jumpman, I have a feeling it's the Jumpman.
or maybe it'll just be the aglets

They are OG. Jordan played in them during his NBA career. Any Jordan Michael played in during an NBA game is OG in my book. History is in association with the shoe.

Jordan himself wasn't OG in that picture

:\ @ Cool Greys being called "OG" even though they released a couple years BEFORE Jordan wore them during his last season with the Wizards...

This space jam OG debate never seems to end.. But cool greys,,,,, from a wizards days pic tho!?!?

nah. it's a fact space jams are not OG. just like cool greys, they were not part of the original 11 release

The Spacejams colorway is OG

The release is a retro

That is the entire foundation for the debate. Both sides have their merit.

So I for one fall on the side that the Spacejams are OG, especially since OG Spacejam pairs exist

except the ones jordan wore were concord not blue. these came out close to the cool greys and we all know those aren't OG

Ok but they were introduced through the movie. He wore them, that's where the idea came from. It's not as if he never wore them on/off the court. Nike didn't just say hey let's make a retro+, they decided to reproduced that shoe because that's where it was introduced.

cool greys are not OG either, look up the release dates of those and space jams. also, in the movie he didn't have space jams, like I said;they were the black concord PE but the cameras picked up the concord as blue

I have never said cool greys were OG. The only thing different on the Space Jams that was concord was the Jumpman. The idea and inspiration came from the movie he wore them in. That blue appearance on screen was probably the reason it released blue. OG doesn't just stand for an original colorway that released at that time. It also means that was worn by MJ himself.

So by that logic, you're saying cool greys are OG

No by no means am I saying that. Not quite sure where I'm losing you but it's not like I haven't seen you be difficult with anyone else on these boards. Cool greys colorway was produced/materialized after he was done playing. It wasn't something he wore in game/movie/whatever. The Space Jam concept was developed through the movie he starred in and based off of what he wore. The only variation was a concord jumpman that appeared blue on screen. Hence more than likely the reason it released blue.

oook so how are they OG when they're based off of something else

space jams release Dec of 2000 and cool greys came out a couple months later also
original release of the ORIGiNAL 11s was 95

space jam the movie came out in 97

dpace Jams are just as "OG" as cool greys; they aren't

Only OG mid color ways are White/Black/Dark Concord, Columbia from the AS game, and Black/Red (used to have the white strip around the patent that i remember so vividly).
