Jordan XI '72-10' Release Date: 12/12/15

The 11s will always be a hyped release no matter what because of the time they release. It's not jus folks into shoes tryna get em. It's moms, dads, grandmas, aunties, etc. plus every wrapped up in the hype of x mas shopping. People will always go crazy every year...

Space jams were the start but concords is what shot everything up in price. Jams could b had for reasonable price and cool greys weren't doing whole lot. Concords came and everything shot up...Breds were the first time JB mass produced the 11s plus had a regular box plus restocked a million times so for the first year and half they were fairly easy to get for around 250-275.
I honestly blame the current market value of Space Jams on the Concords. Space Jams were going for $300-350 2010-2011. Then the Concords dropped and it made people thirsty for 11s. I was looking for another pair of Space Jams in 2011 and became frustrated cuz people kept charging $400-450. I eventually found an NTer with some sense and bought for $330 shipped around late 2011.

"Space jam....jawwdins..."

We can thank Lil Wayne for singing about them. Popularizing them to the masses.

I saw DS Cool Greys all day for $240-260 2011-2012. I remember being frustrated because I was looking for another pair of Space Jams and couldn't find them for that price but I kept seeing Cool Greys.
I saw Breds all day for $280-300.
Concords were going for 300-350 first few months of release. Same trend. Once everybody got their pair, you were able to find them for $280-300. Then a few years later once everybody beat their pairs and grey markets started hitting the market, retail pairs shot up in price.

I live and die by eBay/PayPal so I guess I'm not exactly catering to people looking for a deal but every DS 11 I've sold sold for more than those prices. I sold my extra cool greys week after release for 315 when I posted them on eBay and took a deal on PayPal. My I had 2 extra Concords on release one sold for 400 week after and the other sold for 375 a year after. Again by listing on eBay and then taking a deal through PayPal. But I do know that generally craigslist and facebook groups have the best deals

Yeah, I'm going by NT B/S forum, which is how I got my Space Jams for $330.

But space jams were the start of the trend. From what I remember the cool greys and Concords shot up in price after the initial release and so did the Breds. I don't know if it's a saturated market or people just weren't feeling the Columbias or maybe the 11s bubble just busted but their resell value doesn't seem to be benefitting from the 11s hype that the rest got.

Cool greys have always been on the lower end of XI's, still.

I think Nike produces so many now that you are only going to make money that first couple of days. After that everyone moves on and the prices drop. The kids have already gone back to school, and everyone knows they struck out. There's so many people who didn't sell them initially and held on to them until they needed money, that prices remain reasonable.

Plus people don't freak out anymore and go for the high resell prices, because of the rumored restock or two or three or four. Then you have how JB will put out a low, which lowers the prices of the mids even more.

The 11s bubble is bursting. I think what has helped 11s lose their luster is that paying resale of 300+ is now common place for everyone. 300-400 used to to be on the high end of the spectrum and now that's what's considered a good deal for a lot of shoes.

This.
in the 1995 nba playoffs mj wore the black/concords which were pe's (#45).
they were often mistaken with the space jams which he wore in the movie (#23) which had a blue jumpman and blue herringbone sole during one close up scene before the tip off in that movie.

In the 1996 nba playoffs mj wore in a few games the aj 11 low i.e. in black/true red-wred-white. in most gamee he wore the mids black/reds

Also wore Black / Red "Playoff" Low PE's...

this is also why JB keeps raising the prices each year because the general public are willing to buy at 300-400 range.

Also the resellers my friend, they're a factor too.
resellers would not exist without the consumer need. They wouldnt sell a shoe for twice the price if no one would buy but you know how it really goes. Tbh resellers don't deserve all of the blame, except when they snatch up all the pairs online and do that backdoor ish n store

Thats not a reseller cuz the pairs weren't avail for purchase in the first place lol that's just a shady employee

resellers arent the problem, its 100% the thirsty **** consumer who cant miss a release and sit back until they can cop what they want for retail, if more people missed out and didnt pay resell then we wouldnt have resellers because the market would dry up and then we can get ours for retail or barely above from resellers sitting on product. the thirst is real

Its coming. Oversupply of sneakers will cause the culture to look else where for footwear.

i love sensible posts like this........sadly the thirsty consumer is a lost cause, all they do is find a dumb excuse to validate their thirst

The day my homie and I went up to the mall too pick up our 4 pairs each, we walked over to Champs so my homie could get an infant sz and everyone was tripping in the store especially the Champs employees. It was like past 11 a.m the day of the concord release and all pairs were all sold out but little did they know i had the FTA hook up and still do to where the manager would call me 1-2 weeks in advance and let us come pick our pairs out and pay with gift card. So on all release days I would just go in when all the chaos was gone walk in and out just like that.

Anyway's back to the reason I was quoting here is I ended up selling 1 pair 0f sz 10.5 Concords to an employee for $300 right on the spot. I only did for $ too get the XMAS KB VII "Cheetahs" .

yeah and most of us are guilty on going above and beyond on resale for a certain shoe but people who do it each and every release are killing it for everyone
