Jordan XI '72-10' Release Date: 12/12/15

They were technically called the black concords, since Mike used them in the 95 playoffs after being warned by officials about the dress code (he used concords against the Magic. Around this time Pip and the others were wearing black shoes). Plus, the movie didn't come out until the year after.

It be cool if they did something special. Like release the jersey with it. Kinda like the Lasers with the shirt or jordans with the Levi's.

Odd, I'm 32, grew up collecting and never once heard anyone refer to them as the black concords.

reason concords are called concords is because of the color used on the pods and jumpman.
the blue was added after the movie was out for general release when the cameras picked it up as blue

You're kind of missing what I'm saying here. I know all of this. I grew up collecting his sneakers and watching him play. I've never heard anyone call them "black concords". I know the original coloring was the concord purple, but they were still called space jams. Here's a link for you young guys, I'm not trying to be rude, but it's like you're all missing what I'm saying here. People make **** up just because, they've always been called jams, never "black concords".

they were called space jams before space jam existed?
 
Sigh, I usually cop the XI holiday release, but the price increase is not a welcomed addition for this year.  So if you cop it from a retailer with no free shipping, it could be as high as $245-$250 with taxes.  Mind you if you do the "one to rock, one to stock" tradition, that's a cool $500.  That's MSRP for the gift of flight pack.  At what point do the prices stop climbing?  I'll pay the $260 for one set of foams cause I know they are durable, but these XI's aren't that durable.  They aren't going to break down after heavy use, but my Triple Black foams show no signs of wear compared to some of the other XI's in the rotation.  

As for the colorway/design, it's not bad.  I understand the purists will stay away from it and I can respect that.  I can also understand those that want to cop that don't currently own a set of Space Jams and BREDs as well.  Personally, I'm curious about this iridescent touch to it.  I didn't look twice at the 13's that had em, but they weren't so bad when seen in person.  If it is done properly (and lightly), it might not take away from the shoe.  If the rumors are true that it is being incorporated into the patent leather portion, I pray the QC staff are on point this year since too much iridescent can make the shoe a women's shoe.  The patent leather portion is half the shoe and is the main portion seen when wearing pants.  If I look down and see some sort of hologram foolishness, I'm pretty sure I would not wear these at all.  And why buy a shoe that you won't wear?  If Nike is reading this thread, please tread lightly with the iridescent stuff.  It can be eye catching, but you don't want to make the shoe less masculine.  

Nonetheless, I will probably cop if the final images/release images look good.  I will only be getting one pair though cause the prices really are getting out of hand.  Resell price on the XI lows were around 250 but the MSRP for a mid with taxes and shipping is also $250?  The goal of a business is to make a profit, but Nike will soon reach a crossroads with the pricing structure that they have.  I will tell you that most consumers and resellers will be reaching our own crossroads much sooner (if they haven't reached it already).
