Timothy Jones found guilty of murder
CHICAGO – Timothy Jones has been found guilty of murder in the death of Jacqueline Reynolds.
Jury deliberations continued Saturday. Jurors were trying to decide whether Jones was responsible for the death of Reynolds. The case was unusual because the defendant did not physically kill the victim; Chicago Police crashed into the innocent woman driving through the South Shore neighborhood as they were chasing Jones.
Jones was a suspect in an armed robbery home invasion.
His cousin, Jeffery Richardson, says he doesn’t believe Jones is responsible for Reynolds’ death.
“Blood should not be on his hands,” said Richardson.
Reynolds’ family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the city and the officers involved in the crash.
This is the first trial in Cook County to allow cameras in the courtroom for the entire trial.
