I lived in the south, so i've seen and hung out with dudes that rock the confederate flag and didn't feel hated or threatened, but I know the conversation is different when black folks aren't around.

It really just depends, I mean is this friend of a friend that owns the house Asian? Cuz if so then what the swastika means to them probably isn't the same what it means to you. Nazis perverted the symbol in to something that represents hatred when some visited Japan and brought it back and showed Hitler.
