Steroids should be legal

Arhletes should be able to take steroids if they choose. Sports would be way more exciting and everyone would be on a level playing field. Bum athletes who take roids would be exposed by superior athletes on rounds. What says you?

being extremely muscular in sports is actually somewhat of a disadvantage. You don't want to be too stiff, or, carry uneeded weight on your body. It's all about conditioning and flexibility.

Nah. Look at the WWE. Average life expectancy for the ones that took roids gotta be like 55 years old. Stuff is no good for the long-term.

When used properly with proper dosages, cycling and stacking, steroids work.
When they are abused they're horrible and dibilitating

I don't think they should be allowed to be used

Steroids aren't just to be overly muscular...

Don't feel like typing a lot tho.

I don't think they should be legal but they do have offer some legitimate help and remedies when used correctly

What great models will come out of it...

Middle/High Schoolers will look up to their sports hero and take steroids to follow...

:smh:

We can all agree that steroids do not improve athletic skill. If that's the case, why is it classified as a "performance enhancer"? To run faster and jump higher takes skill (which is why draft combine attendees get coaches to teach them to run a 40yd dash) to perform, having bigger muscles doesn't necessarily translate into improving your 40 time, your vertical leap, or even make you a better player. Media has defined "performance" into accumulated statistics, which is not the actual definition of athletic performance.

Bro you clearly don't understand how something like HGH works so I can see why you wouldn't understand how it can enhance performance.

1. Steroids and HGH are not the same thing.

2. You just agreed with me that steroids =/= skill

I do know how HGH works. HGH can help with body composition and muscle growth. Muscle growth and strength doesn't translate into efficient and synergistic muscle performance for athletic activity. Trust me. I work with elite athletes daily who shall remain nameless for HIPAA reasons. This is the conclusion of an article I kept while I was in school. This article is a Systemic Review written in 2008, which is the highest form of research when you talk about validity. They reviewed articles over 50 year period.

Conclusion: Claims that growth hormone enhances physical performance are not supported by the scientific literature. Although the limited available evidence suggests that growth hormone increases lean body mass, it may not improve strength; in addition, it may worsen exercise capacity and increase adverse events. More research is needed to conclusively determine the effects of growth hormone on athletic performance.

Steroids are the most overrated thing in sports and the moralizing witch hunts conducted by the media appeals to the worst instincts of humanity.

I understand the hysteria in track and field, boxing, MMA, where there are less games and the impact of steroids is greater due to the nature of the sports

but in baseball? The NBA?

Over discussed and overrated. and if HGH can really help guys recover faster and improve quality of play then the owners are abdicating there responsibility by not pursing and researching it as an option.

Nope for Dope!

Otherwise athletes begin to tune anything possible to make them perform like superhumans.
