As of the last few months my pain medication has also started to mess with my ability to pee. I'm prescribed 400mg of Tramadol (max dosage, opiates) per day and urinary retention is a common side effect.
While I've always preferred sitting down for reasons I've mentioned above, I now have to because most of the time I'm unable to pee standing up because of the medication. Sitting helps because it lifts all the pressure from the bladder.
Some people not only prefer it with good reason, others like me now need it.

I'm not the one who's bothered about how another man urinates. I just provided arguments for sitting down because the general opinion seems to be ignorant of the benefits.

My friends can use any toilet they want in my house. As long as they flush and don't make a mess, aka sitting down, it's all good.
