2015 GENEVA AUTO SHOW - Ford GT to Start at $400k

LF-SA :pimp:

Looks like one of those aggressive small dogs you see when you go jogging

How big is this thing? Mini cooper big or smart car big?

Ferrari 488 GTB

Replacing the 458 with its atmospheric 4.5-liter V8, the new 488 GTB packs a downsized turbo eight that may be smaller at 3.9 liters, but doesn't skimp on the power – now producing 661 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque to trump even the ultimate 458 Speciale. Compared to the new McLaren 675LT, the 488 packs almost as many horses but even more torque, and goes well beyond the Lamborghini Huracán by both measures. Even the new Audi R8 V10 Plus can't touch it.

Disclaimer: I am a casual (stress on casual) car fan. I don't know much.

Can someone please explain why these Super cars can be sold and driven, but Skyline's are banned?

Nissan doesn't/didn't want to import it to the US and to be able to import it the car has to pass US' emission control tests and have to be crash safety tested & certified. Keep in mind again that the US is the strictest when it comes to these things. Like Porsche had to change their bumpers from the Euro to the US markets to be crash test compliant. Nissan probably just didn't want to invest money into making their GTRs compliant for the US market because maybe they did not see it selling well enough to make a profit back then.

It's not really because of the HP, those supercars complies with everything the US wanted (emissions and safety)it to be before it can be legally sold in the US.

Edit: Also before someone posts it, there are some conspiracies out there that the real reason is the other auto manufacturers not wanting it imported because they want customers to buy whats in their lot intead, etc... etc....

911 GT3 RS

Five seconds isn't a long time in everyday chores, but it's an eternity on the track, so you'll excuse our enthusiasm after learning that the new 911 GT3 RS is 5 seconds faster than the 911 GT3 around the 'Ring!

With a Porsche-official lap time of 7 minutes and 20 seconds around the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the just introduced 911 GT3 RS is not only faster than the plain GT3, but it's the fastest-ever production 911 beating the 997-generation GT2 RS by four seconds.

It's essentially a track-racer for the road taking all the best bits of the 911 GT3 to the next level. The RS is 10kg (22 pounds) lighter than the GT3, and at the same time, has 25hp and 81Nm (60 lb ft) more power from its bigger displacement 4.0-liter atmospheric flat-six that churns out 493hp (500PS) and 460Nm (338lb.ft) of torque.

A specially developed seven-speed dual-clutch transmission transfers power to the rear wheels, with Stuttgart quoting a 0-60mph time of 3.1 seconds (0-100km/h in 3.3 seconds) and a 1/4 mile run in 11.2 seconds.

It’s already available for order at a price of $175,900, not including a $995 destination charge, with the U.S. launch scheduled for early July.

Those fender flares are insane, look like gills.

Porsche Cayman GT4

The GT4 is the most hardcore variant of the Cayman yet, using a 385-horsepower version of Porsche's 3.8-liter flat-six, derived from the 911 Carrera S. It sends power to the rear wheels solely via a six-speed manual transmission with dynamic gearbox mounts, and we're told the hot new coupe will sprint to 60 miles per hour in just 4.2 seconds – a full half-second quicker than the 340-hp Cayman GTS.

Building upon that, the GT4 uses a host of chassis components from the potent 911 GT3, and offers further upgrades like ceramic brakes and carbon fiber bucket seats. This should make for one seriously track-worthy machine, and Porsche already says that the GT4 will run the Nürburgring in a scant 7:20 – the same time as the 2011 911 GT3.

It's all very awesome, this GT4. To say we're stoked would be a gross understatement. Look for it to hit Porsche dealers in July, starting at $84,600.

7-speed automatic with additional clutch
The hybrid module of the standard 7-speed automatic transmission 7G-TRONIC PLUS incorporates both the electric motor and an additional clutch between the combustion engine and the electric motor. When driving in all-electric mode, this decouples the combustion engine from the drive train. It also, however, offers the possibility of moving off using the combustion engine but with the performance of a wet start-up clutch. The clutch here is a substitute for the torque converter.

PREDATOR___by_adonihs.jpg

You can't convince me the designers didn't watch Predator an hour and a half before they went into the drawing room.

Yah they've been doing Predator-esque design in their grill for a while now especially the F=Sport versions. Or Vader-esque.

I like it though, it's small but stout. It's like a tiny off-roader than a small city car. It's almost CUV-like in it's stance with those gigantic wheels. That grill looks like it'll grind you up though.

The LF-C2 Concepts grills somewhat crazy too, a love it or hate it relationship but I am digging it more and more as it becomes more common with the brand.
