So I received my pair from Nike today... worst quality shoe I've ever received. I called them and the lady said "Well you can return them" smh. I got to find another pair. This is why I try to order 2 pairs of each shoe.

Ended up striking out everywhere on the day they dropped as well as today on the phone. Just caved and scooped a pair for $225, not feeling too bad about that price.

Character??? Man it looks like somebody scrunched the leather panel up like a piece of paper and then stitched it the rest of the upper. I'm pissed. I got to find another 9.5 or 10.

Ah damn that sucks. From the picture it looks like quality leather to me. I figured if you were pissed then it was messed up, can't really tell from the pic.

Sorry to break up the party but as a UNC fan, I'm mad about these. The blue is so off. As a fan of 1's I couldn't be happier. My pair looks great and feels great. But that blue...is just not even close to Carolina blue. I held off on the 2013 mids cuz I knew these would come around with NA on the tongue but. Now I wish I had those too. Still plenty I can wear with em, just not Carolina gear.
I hear you but a) these are consistent color wise to the 85 OG colorway b) there isn't a consistent blue for Tarheel uniforms hence why Nike this year has been charged with making a consistent uniformity among the various shades of uniforms, and c) from the promo pics you shoulda been able to see this wasn't gonna be Pantone 2xx that's the current licensing of university blue.

Man I'm on the hunt for another pair. Then I'll probably return to Nike. Gonna try some crease removal techniques first. But for the record I wear all my shoes.

Blue is meant to match the original 1s not the current Carolina blue. Then why you so worried about imperfect leather? that pair is perfectly fine. cats out here worrying about a damn crease. this is why we will never get truly original quality on anything

exactly. people complained so much we started getting products that looked "perfect" on the shelf but held up like a wet paper bag. traded quality materials for less cosmetic issues (that still existed anyways). now nike is slowly reversing that and dudes cry about "precreasing"

Yes I read the article and I knew about it before I read the article. That doesn't change the fact that I can't wear these with the UNC gear that is out now. Still a dope shoe. Just not a proper UNC colorway.

I'm actually very impressed with how close they are to the OG and I knew they wouldn't be Pantone 278 (old official color) or 542 (new official color). I was just hoping for something close enough to wear with my gear. It's not just a shade or two darker, it's a different hue. I still like the shoe just not as a fan.
