i read that wild hogs are a major nuisance in the state costing billions per year in property damage...apparently state law said they can be handled accordingly, which includes a method like this

 
Yeah they have helihog huntin to. Where you shoot those fat ******* from a helicopter. Perfectly fine wit me.

someone asked that question and it was explained the meat is extremely tough and since they are the scavengers, the flesh takes on the odor of what it consumes 
 
I thought pig meat was pig meat. So you can't get bacon from these joints cuz it'll be too tough?

Can confirm.

They destroyed two of my dads' neighbors' yards. One of the two fixed it quickly only to have the hogs return and destroy everything again. And my dad only lives 20 minutes east Austin.

You CANNOT eat wild hogs. Pigs are one of the easiest species to become feral. After a generation out in the wild their bodies completely change. The pigs we eat are specially bread to be the way they are. Wild hogs are disgusting. On top of that they are aggressive and fearless

my understanding is they set up something in say a tin can, full of what looks like bb's. So they must bait them with food or something and then once theres enough they shoot that can and those bb things explode

Idk im not from tx or do this so dont take my word, its just what i gathered from a cpl videos

I heard you can eat the meat but it contains a parasite so you gotta cook it all the way. And the meat itself smells and taste gross

Whenever I see people posting pics of dead boars they make jokes about bacon and sausage.

And I used to order Roo meat from a website sold exotic meats and boar was one of the top sellers.

So what gives?
