Anyone picking up the Apple Watch?

Visited the Apple Store today to get a look at em in person.  They only have em in the glass cases now though.  They look even better in person.  Can't wait to get mine.
Nice!
I wanted to go check em out today too, didn't get a chance tho. Sucks I thought you were gonna get to have hands on.

$800 watch $800 phone, theives rubbing their hands when they see you walking

If you live with this mindset you will never live life at the fullest. Who worries about what bad things are going to happen to them? Just enjoy life, buy what you want. Not everyone is going to rob you.

Just realized you can actually get to try them on now, but you have to schedule an actual appointment.  I thought that didn't start until the 24th but it's going on now.

Yea, I knew they were having appointments to try on. But I thought they'd just have em out in the open like the phones. I would do that appt, but I'm sure the apple employee will just ramble on and on and on. I just wanna do my thing lol

Heading to my local store to try some on later today. Bringing the wife along to try to get her on board. I've found these frivolous purchases go so much smoother if she gets in on the action, too.

I roll with apple 90% of the time and couldn't see myself having nything other than my iphone 6, but phone watches period I don't get the hype. Just seems like an obviously overpriced fad. My roommate copped a samsung one for I think 350-400 and it seems like basically its only value is telling people hey look at me I have a cool phone watch. Might as well just tie a phone to your wrist they both would look equally dumb to me.

Not being a jerk, but this is actually enough of a selling feature to aLOT of people

After watching some reviews on youtube I dont want one anymore. Software seems to lag a lot

Iphone 4 cant run the latest software and its only 5-6 years old.. Imagine what the watch will be capable in 5 years.

Not the best investment imo. Ur better off buying a presidential that catches more attention and resell value is consistent

That's actually one thing that pushed me to get this instead of waiting until apple watch 2 next year or whenever it comes out. Apple products ALWAYS keep great resell value. This version 1 isn't perfect but it's still the best smart watch on the market and I know when version 2 comes out I can easily resell this to put towards the next one.

You can't compare a smart watch to a regular watch, IMO. A regular watch always uses the same tech (for the most part). A smart watch will always have to evolve to use newer technologies, so of course it's going to be outdated as more powerful and faster tech options come to fruition.

This is true with EVERY piece of electronics you own. Hell, you may as well never uograde enything electronic that you own because next year something faster and more powerful will come out.

Also, 5-6 years is eons in tech terms. Think about how far cellphones have come in that time. And then think about 5 years prior to that. Expecting an iPhone 4 to efficiently run software optimized for devices sold in 2015 is kind of ridiculous, IMO.

As a lot of people are saying, I won't be getting one because there's just not enough functionality to me to justify the cost. I have an iPhone 6+ with a beautiful screen that I spend all day looking at anyway, which isn't going to change if I have a smart watch. So why even bother?

I think any smart watch that's limited to one type of phone is a no go. The Samsung watch, same thing. The Android watches are better, but the Pebble watches are the best bang for your buck in my opinion. Still don't know if I'll get the new one yet, the first one serves its purpose for me as of now

Just left Apple Store. They had the watches on display and like 4 out that you can get hands on. Seems pretty awesome. 24th can't come soon enough. Looks and feels great, screen is crystal clear (have a pebble steel), the digital crown is extremely responsive. I tried on the 42mm stainless with steel band, and the black 42mm sport.

Tried on some watches today.  Unless you have baby arms, do not get the 38mm joint.  Pictures of these make them look huge, but in reality, the 42mm joint is like a typical watch size.

Would get one but debating it cuz of health risks. Having bluetooth and wifi on the arm 24/7 has me questioning it. Would buy if i felt it was 100% safe.

finally got to see them in person today.

42mm > 38mm. 38mm definitely looks more ideal for women.

however i'm just not quite sold on it yet. I'm gonna wait it out.
