I don't see how it could easily go either way for him, because I don't see how it could easily be a huge problem in his life. I can see how it could easily be a non factor in the progress of his life, but I can't see how it would easily be a huge problem.
That's assuming he's going to follow the conventional path of "college----job" that millennials are proving isn't the rule anymore.
I think you're letting your personal feelings get in the way of the reality of it. In 2 years when they hit the workforce this will be completely forgotten. We live in a microwave attention span society.
