Racist Fraternity at the University of Oklahoma caught on tape.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one, fellas.

Brah I feel what you're saying but I my thing is that there are so many ways dude could go

A true to the game white supremacist knows how to get around this.

He gonna say he did counseling, did a couple "community projects", ask for forgiveness, and judging by this thread and what i have read on other boards. There will be people ready to forgive him.

So in five years he enters the job market not has Parker Rice the racist, but Parker Rice "young man who made a mistake but is now fighting racism"

Without ever learning his lesson.

It is a obstacle for dude. But he got the connections, and resources to get pass this.

I never said you were wrong. However, If you look back, I said "time will tell." It can EASILY go either way for Rice.

Yea...I can see the SAE/family connections maaaaaybe helping him down the road just as much as I can see this dude being toxic for the early part of his attempted professional career.

In this age of companies being careful of who's working for them and avoiding controversy at all costs, they have to be VERY careful in the hiring process due to potential fallout/blowback.

We'll just have to sit back and see how this unfolds.

I see, I see. I get what you're saying

Watch, in 20 years I'm gonna be in a random airport watching CNN an hear the phrase "Today Congressman Parker Rice said on Capitol Hill............."

Who said they were finished for the rest of their lives though? VP, if you're addressing me, you're misconstruing what I'm saying...which is for THE TIME BEING, he's ******.
They're 18-19. What is the "time being" for them?

They're not even finished w/ school.

There's no secret database that exists where you enter someone's name in and it says "He said the N word...don't hire".

 That part made me laugh...

I know a kid that came from a very well to do wealthy Annapolis family that had been arrested several times for DUIs & other assorted reasons. He finally got arrested in Ohio at a Dead show years ago & got caught with 3 sheets of acid selling to a Narc.

He ended up doing mandatory federal time (I forget what it was), when he got out he had a plum job waiting for him after he graduated college. Last I heard he was making $120k a year...

People from well to do families will always get hooked up. It's the way the world works. This rice & levitt kid will most likely get scolded from their parents for getting caught in public & that's it...

What is he? A sophomore? He's 2 years out from potentially being in the workforce. So yea...for the time being, which is the early part of his attempted professional career (including internships), he's screwed. This will still be fresh. I will almost guarantee it. Dude has a scarlet letter.

I don't see how it could easily go either way for him, because I don't see how it could easily be a huge problem in his life. I can see how it could easily be a non factor in the progress of his life, but I can't see how it would easily be a huge problem.

It's not how it works for kids that come from well to do families JJ... Look at that kid Ethan Couch who killed someone drunk driving that got off on the "affluenza" defense... Dude got off from killing 4 people...

I know this, PSK.

Dudes are from Jesuit and HP. They will be fine.
HP's average home listed is like 1.4 milli. Average income is 215k.
Dudes will probably spend this time to backpack through Europe or something.

That's assuming he's going to follow the conventional path of "college----job" that millennials are proving isn't the rule anymore.

And even if he is...(and this is where we will disagree)...I'm telling you right now that he isn't some "untouchable" EVERYWHERE on the planet.

Bruh...we have KNOWN public officials that still currently sit in positions of power that are on record saying some racist ****. Why on earth do you think this 19 year old is so screwed?

Don Young called people "*******s" IN OFFICE...and he's STILL in office. You telling me this 19 year old is finished?

I don't see it.

He can get a job behind the scenes and still make 6 figures while being out of the public spotlight.

I think you're letting your personal feelings get in the way of the reality of it. In 2 years when they hit the workforce this will be completely forgotten. We live in a microwave attention span society.

Like I said...time will tell. You may be 100% right, but I have a feeling that this is a scarlet letter for dude. At least for now.

His early professional career is not going to get off to the same start as someone who wasn't caught on camera singing a blatantly racist song. He's got a MAJOR uphill climb.

You're talking about my personal feelings when you are giving yours by saying in 2 years this will be forgotten. I don't think it will be that easy for RIce.

There is just something different about being labeled a racist....more so than having alcohol related offenses, petty crimes, etc. on your record.

I'd love to check back in 5 years or so and see what this dude is doing.

Some white people get off on saying the n-word. It is like a drug for them

Even "liberal" ones
i remember when i was chilling with a bunch of drunk megans and ashleys in college and how much they would drop it. :smh:

I remember two white chicks who I thought were my friends at the time said "***ger" talking about Obama during his second campaign.

Something like "I wouldn't vote for that ****** because his middle name is Hussein."

While the other one just laughed and went along with it.

They didn't know I was in the house... I just had to smh because i know that this is the type of rhetoric that both of these girls grew up with in their homes with their perspective families..

I didn't bother going off on them... At the time I just couldn't believe that these are people that smile in my face. I just expressed how I feel and to this day I still refuse ro acknowledge them when I see them around.

What's even crazier is that one was named Megan and the other was Ashley

Brah I always shake my head when i see a white person trying to tell a joke that uses the N-word.

There face is always full of excitement when they start, then full of frustration when they no they can't drop the n-bomb with me in the room.
laugh.gif

Pulp Fiction's "Dead ****** Storage"

Chapelle Show "****** Family"

Louie C.K "The N-word" bit

Stuff like that is orgasmic to them. They always come wit the "I got use the word to tell the joke" steez

seeing them struggle really annoys me tho. their frustration then subsequent implication of the word brings emphasis to the fact that theyre conscious of it but have a desire to say it for one reason or another. just say it! i already know u let that s*** rip when you're amongst your white friends or at home. No need to lie to me and pretend you dont say it lol. Your coyness bothers me.

The word as a whole doesn't bother me. Then again, im desensitized to racism as a whole from previous events. To me, connotation or intent is everything. I cringe too when i hear it being forced into convos because it sounds cool. Black people will be choppin it up with their homies saying "bla bla bla and i was like 'this n**** not really bout to...oh s*** my dude actually did it!'" type steeze. its just in the conversation. then u hear people outside the culture like "yo...my N***A. N***A like this N***A over here not really bout to do to...oh s*** N***A! LOOK N***A ACTUALLY did it!" smfh it always sounds forced

White sorority girls are some of the worst humans beings walking the earth.

Even worst than the frats, at least the frat memebers try to keep it behind close doors. These girls act untouchable

I remember talking a easy Family Science Econ class.

The flagrant stuff these girls would say about black people, Obama, and the economy :x

But this was UMD, where they kind have the reputation of being entitled bird brains

if you don't mind me asking, what did they say?

No part of me believes that's a PR move.

I'm sure they've been friends for months; years, even.

Not days. They didn't just meet like last Saturday or anything. Nope.

And if the formal was well before all this happened, which it appears it was? It must be PR when a white guy takes a black chick to a dance.

Just skimmed the thread and not surprised to see the usual deflecting. "Black people say it too" "Rappers say it too". The usual BS.

I hope this follows these idiots around the rest of their lives

This will follow them alright, right into being a congressman, judge, lawyer, etc... Sad to say for those that come from well to do families, they will all do well in life.

Best believe that. These clowns are probably getting attaboys from their fathers, uncles, grandfathers. The same people who are in charge of the justice system in this great country of ours come from racist *** fraternities like this. These folks look out for one another. They'll get criticized for the next few months but these dudes are set for life.

Then I stand corrected.

I'm not suggesting it's PR when a white guy takes a black girl to a formal. I'm absolutely suggesting that when a white guy who was just recently recorded saying racist chants takes a black girl to a formal days after the recording, it could very possibly be PR.

And if this event was prior, then it's still entirely possible that this was a PR move along the same lines as "My best friends are black."

"I'm not racist. See? This pic was from BEFORE I was recorded. "

The irony in all this? Singing about hanging n****** from the tree got them ou boys round the clock police protection yet black people protesting & chanting black lives matter got a lot of people thrown in jail...
