This was inspired by the J Cole thread, and for the record I think Cole's album is the hottest out right now. Just the raw emotions he put out there. And he's a fantastic songwriter to me. I wasn't ******* with his first joint tho.

But people STAY hyping him up
Like that scratchy/angry voice he be doing ain't annoying
And like his subject matter is new
I enjoy his music kinda
But people make him seem like the second coming of Nas and PAC or something
Oh and his album ain't a classic it's a good album but FAR from classic

Future. He's a glorified druggie with no skill. And he's related to Rico Wade who is a heralded producer from Organized Noize...

Rich Homie Quan, Shmurda, Troy Ave, Ace Hood too.

There's so much turnover in hip hop now though. It's like a job that does a mass hiring, and no employees pan out.

As a lyricist yeah but his productions skills and ability to put music together isn't overrated. He's put together some of the most impactful music of the last decade.
 
Drake- for obvious reasons
Jeezy- people praise him more so for what he's done and not doing. When he went on that run where he couldn't get that album out and dropped dud tape after dud dudes kept bringing up 05-08
Jay-z- hasn't had a good album since american gangster
Kamye- and I'm apart of the minority that like yeezus, but dudes act like everything hebtouches is gold. Hell look how much y'all paying for his sneakers.

So now people form opinions over one complex vid lol. As for Kendrick his album is definitely a classic. There is no other album I still listen to on a daily basis besides GKMC

I think KRIT is better than K Dot too *shrug*
 
J. Cole has to have that title. I've actually had people say "You dont get him." I get GZA, Raekwon, Mos Def, Kweli, and Dead Prez, but I don't get J. Cole? FOH.

Not only is that line incredibly simplistic but the imagery is absolutely disgusting. Dude is not lyrical and he's an even worse singer. The title goes to him.
 
I think only on NT do i think Kanye is overrated. Love his music, but yall being doin carwheels and S!!! over yeezus and that S!! was wack.

In real life, non NTers, no one has ever even spoke about the yeezus album.

Those 4 albums are examples
There are good albums that come out
Even recently
But not classics
 
Smh at people calling Kendrick of all people overrated. I'm not even a huge fan of bruh but there is no way I can call him overrated. Blacker the Berry alone should kill that notion. And yes the classic term gets thrown around waaaayyy too much. Most people are so quick to crown anything noteworthy a classic. For example Freddie Gibbs - Pinata is a personal classic to me but can understand someone feeling indifferent. Just cause you love an album doesn't make it a classic.

That's not the only thing I listen to, never said it was, you just interpreted like you wanted to. Never seems to amaze me how niketalk has so many people that act like they're still in high school when most of the members are grown men

After graduation I stop liking Kanye and college dropout is a classic and still him best albums.loved soulful backpacker ye... I see now....

Kendrick Lamar- his voice is annoying in large doses, he thinks he's deeper then he is.

Jcole- I love a handful of dudes songs but dudes boring personality shows alot at times...

Childish gambino- I like 2 songs of his but for the most part dude is corny.
annoying voice and subject matter lame AF.. Reminds me of a preppie kid...

Eminem- like maybe 10 of his songs to this day. Yes his skills were nice but dude makes the corniest music imo.
I can't listen to Eminem anymore at all. Dude changed his flow and got even worst.... Trash
