What's up bros I figured it's time to put out a mixtape maybe 10-12 songs and I want to do it in a cheap way :smh: I got a realistic budget of 1k and I'm already looking into a bluebird microphome I saw at guitar center.....besides thAt I only have a iMac. Literally just a computer and I'm getting a mic soon, I'm hearing I need a m box?! Idk what that is

So please TiA I would appreciate it for some essentials to download and create my sound. Also equipment I need. My goal is to record and produce my mixtape thank u guys again

Yeah but after that what program I use to transfer that audio onto a instrumental and then add things to that beat

Since you have an imac you already have garage band, so use that for budget reasons.

It does work fine tho..me and my boy used to use it like 10 years ago..

If memory serves correct a mbox is used to hook up the mic to your comp.
Also replaces the need for a soundcard.
Defiently worth getting.

Make sure you are getting the right mic as there are ALOT and they all have different purposes.

Yeah all around music phase I got some samples I'm interested in flipping

Bluebird mica any good for rapping and some singing

I would focus on one for the time being as you are just starting and perfect your craft as a writer before diving into production.

It will take a few years before your decent at making beats, and that requires a lot more equipment and money

As far as the blue bird goes..I would look for something in the $100-$150 range before investing Ina $300 mic.

Agree with this. If you know nothing about either, focus on writing raps.

Write them ***** out and record yourself on your phone's recorder. Get a feel for how you sound, your flows, and your sonic strengths. Practice breathing.

Don't spend 300 dollars on a mic. You can have an entire studio setup for about 200 bucks. Cop a CAD M179 mic for 130, an XLR mic cable, a mic stand, a foam windscreen, a Blue Icicle XLR TO USB converter, and a pop filter.

With Amazon that should hit you for no more than 230 altogether
