Pastor Creflow Dollar is asking for 60 million to purchase new G6 to spread the gospel across the gl

I was avoiding it simply as a preemptive strike. If I say, "It was written by men," you'll say, "No, it was written by God." So to move past that matter of semantics, I said 'scribed'.

As in, "Fine, it was written by God. But at the very least, it was scribed by men."

To answer that last question: yes. I'm contending that the bible is from the minds of much earlier man, man who was fat leases intelligent than us.

There are 2 positions in there, both of which can be proved. The rebuttal is, "The Bible was recorded by those less intelligent men, but the words were FROM God," and that position is nowhere close to be proven, or even supported by anything other than belief (which again, is in the mind).

Ultimately, above the human authors, the Bible was written by God. Second Timothy 3:16 tells us that the Bible was "breathed out" by God. 1 Corinthians 2:12-13 discusses where the Bible came from as well. God superintended the human authors of the Bible so that, while using their own writing styles and personalities, they still recorded exactly what God intended. The Bible was not dictated by God, but it was perfectly guided and entirely inspired by Him. The writers even tell you that. "And the Lord said" and "Thus says the Lord" appears over and over in the Bible.

How does I does human intelligence affect the message presented in the Bible?

Fulfilled prophecy and the unity of scriptures are evidence to support that the writings are ultimately from God.
- "The Bible was written by God."
- "Says who?"
- "Says god, in the bible."

Soooo, no other outside source? Just the source itself claiming that the source itself has been ordained by the leading character described within the source itself?

Just a question, do you serve God for fear of eternal burning, or for the eternal life/salvation? Is it selfish to serve God for the purpose of your benefit?

I have accepted Jesus as my Savior because I know that I deserve hell. Without Jesus, I am judged by my sins....Trust I got more than I can count. And since God is Holy he despises sin in His presence he would be just to judge me accoring to the law or even my own personal law/morals. Which I have broken those too. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." So I have accepted that gift because of the fnished work of Jesus. He died for my sin, you sin.... everyone's sin.. He didn't have to do it, but he did and I can never repay Him for that. So I follow Christ because he loved me first. And even if I was ever able to live a sinless life I wouldn't know how to get to Heaven. I don't know the way, but Jesus does. He is the only way. Do you believe in heaven or hell?

Why would I use any other source to base my beliefs in the Bible other than the Bible? I believe that the Bible is the Word of God and it is the highest and the ultimate supreme authority. If I used another source wouldn't I be conceding that there is another source higher than the Bible?

Can someone please explain to me how exactly Jesus died for our sins?

I mean...I know how he died.. But how does that translate to him dying for everyone's sins?

I cannot disprove either. I don't "believe" but I won't dismiss because logically speaking the possibility is there.

I will say this, if God is all powerful he wouldn't be taking his sweet time preparing heaven. If God LOVES his children he wouldn't create a hell to burn them forever. He also wouldn't make them "sinners in nature" if he in fact hates sin.

I'm getting a puppy this week thinking of naming him creflow. Either that or Kano.

What I'll say is this. It may sound like a cop out but it is what it is. God is Devine, Omnipotent, omnipresent. Pretty much he is perfect and un flawed. So as humans who are flawed by nature trying to wrap our minds around his logic and thought process is pointless because the being that Christians accept as God knows all and sees all. He sees what we don't and knows what we don't. Christians only know why God does or did based on what the bible says. Everything else is beyond our realm of understanding on regards why He does whay He does.

Support does not equal 'higher than'.

This is kind of a silly counter argument. What disproves other religions to be false? If source material is good enough proof than ALL religions are true.

And again, God didn't write the bible. It's not the word of God, it's the word of man thinking God said it. Huge difference

Just curious. Why don't you believe? Is it because you can't?

I didn't say it did
I didn't say that you said it did. I responded to your response about placing higher value in something else that could possibly support the words of something that is a support of it's own claims.

Your question was asking if that would mean you're placing something as higher value if it is used as support for Biblical claims. My response is that something supporting something else does not mean that the support is greater than.

Or, in short, "Support does not equal 'higher than'." No need to point out what you didn't say, because your words are not being implicitly or explicitly called to light.

Just curious. Why don't you believe? Is it because you can't?

Why is the most powerful being leaving his existence to "faith"? Why is it that everything that he's done happened in past and isn't happening anymore? Before his doing was seen literally first hand, but now he works in mysterious ways? The only thing God chose to leave behind is a book written in mystery?

Let's look at it from the other side. You think your religion is the complete truth correct? Why? Because it's what you chose? If you say because the bible there are other religions with their own ancient texts that claim otherwise, also have archeologists findings to support it, and claim to be written by their version of God. How did you arrived to your conclusion that Christianity is THE end all be all if you don't even know what the other religions are about?

You seemed to be locked in to your ideals, and that's fine, but think about your overall conclusion and then throw some logical thought processes into the mix. The bible is right because it said its right is NOT a logical thought process. Something not being disproved doesn't make it a truth.

How do Christians explain the identical stories from other cultures that predate Christianity?

Explaining thatis the least of the bibles worries, but this is actually a good point. The bible is looked at as "the only one that isn't a myth/children's story" yet it's no different from the other old texts. The stories, and main characters all have counterparts within different texts.
