NASA scientist warns that California only has one year of water left.

What happened in this thread

Anyways I'm down to visit NorCal. What are some cool cities?

SF is cool if you want things to see, hit up some good bars, catch baseball games, etc., but I can't stand it anymore due to the population that took over the city. It used to be my favorite city in the US until 2009-10ish. The people, food, housing, etc in the rest of the Bay>>>>>>SF by far. I live in a somewhat boring neighborhood 15-20 mins outside of SF, so I still go up there to meet up with friends for drinks or baseball games, but other than that, I'm done with it. I'd say go to SF for the touristy things but drive to the South or East Bay for food and much better looking women if you're single.

I've seen that a lot of people outside of LA think that most parts of LA are either like Hollywood or like the scenes from Training Day, and that there's nothing in between  There are plenty of normal neighborhoods where everyone gets along

the IE and the OC are so trash. you'll def come across more racism out there

literally the furthest south i go is Long Beach. and thats a city within itself. no longer LA..

its funny tho. you cant really be racist in LA.. even the hipster white folks will stand up for you..

That Hollywood image goes south when they walk further down Hollywood & Highland. Same for Downtown LA. You could be walking, and all of a sudden you're on Skid Row.

It's like that here too. You can be walking around upscale Union Square in SF, and one block over you'll be in the Tenderloin, one of the nastiest areas I've seen in this country

yeah, Orange County definitely has a ton of white racists. The only place I hit up down there is Irvine due to the high Asian population.

does SF even have a hood anymore?

SRS question

I mean I hear hipsters are invading but I'm sure due to gentrification, some SF areas might be bad. Maybe worse

The Tenderloin is still the worst place I've seen in the US. Hunter's Point, Fillmore, etc. used to be areas you avoided at all costs but aren't AS bad anymore due to gentrification. The Mission, which is where I lived as a kid, used to be Mexican gang territory but is now musty Midwestern hipster territory, so I try avoid it just like I avoid gang neighborhoods. There's a few other areas with shady looking dudes and junkies walking around, but for the most part nothing will really happen to you if you're minding your own business. The problem with SF is that unlike LA, it's a condensed area with public transportation, so the crazy crackheads and panhandlers are mobile and can easily end up in the nice areas to bother you. The BART is still tame compared to the subway in NYC though.

The more dangerous parts of the Bay Area are pretty far from the "main" parts of the Bay (no matter what you hear, Oakland as a whole is NOT dangerous outside of certain neighborhoods, just like any city). Honestly the only times I feel really uncomfortable is when I'm in those 95 % white areas in the East Bay  A lot of the racist cops that got busted recently live out there.

Tenderloin has so much open crack smoking

Oakland is dangerous in the right parts still. But I mean, I spend a lot of time in Vallejo and denounce how bad it is because it doesn't seem that bad but people think it's awful.

Oakland still has some bad parts, but areas like downtown Oakland are 100x safer than they used to be. Also, parts of Oakland have always been nice, like the Oakland Hills and Piedmont area. The homes out there are much better than anything you can find in SF.

I don't really go out to Vallejo or any of the 707 area code cities, especially since those incidents last year where dudes were shooting up the highway on a frequent basis. Not sure what all that was about

Been here in Irvine past two years, enjoying it out here. I do miss home though.

but yeah man, so much water out on the road. I definitely didn't drive today, people turn ******ed on the road down here when it starts raining.

so you dont have any real experience to use to compare norcal to socal...

why dont you just sit down then?

st louis has nothing to do with comparing socal to norcal

Has everything to do with the comments your dumb *** making.

Aint nothing segregated here.

Blacks and Browns been getting along since white flight in compton/watts.

Gangs don't get a long? What a thought. Crips and Crips don't get along. They being racist? Mexican gangs feud with rival gangs.

I'm not going to say no one is racist here, but your trying to say we're segregated when that's furthest from reality.
But you have no real experience in NorCal. So what you see as normal, I see as less racial harmony.

Try to understand that you can't understand what you don't know. Trying to argue with me about NorCal vs SoCal is like ninjahood trying to argue that his apartment is more comfortable than a beachfront Malibu mansion.

People from NorCal just stated that NorCal is more segregated. You feel how you wanna feel but you're being narrow minded.

And you're comparing apples and oranges.

Los Angeles>NorCal

?

please quote the people who said norcal is more segregated than socal....

I didnt see that said anywhere

I'll wait....

There's plenty of racist neighborhoods in both parts of Cali. Here in the Bay, Livermore, Pleasanton, Concord, and the rest of those Contra Costa County cities have a ton of racist white people

Segregation is a form a racism which doesn't exist here.

ain't no damned black only water fountains, Mexican only restrooms.

Ain't no damned part of Los Angeles that has 1 race only.
