adidas won't renew NBA sponsorship

Two things Nike should do when it takes over the contract: bring back the traditional round neck collars and piping on the shoulders like the Celtics and Bulls have (Lakers, Pistons and Mavericks can stay with their current looks) and put the Jerry West logo back on the front of the jersey.

Nike was the first to introduce the current shape of the collars for the Lakers and Pistons. But I wouldn't expect them to go that direction. The best indicator of where Nike might go design-wise would be to take a look at the current college basketball jerseys. I'm sure there will be some modifications and changes, but the overall semblance wont skew too far from that.

As for the NBA logo--I don't think we'll be seeing that come back for the foreseeable future. From my observations, it seems like the NBA is gearing towards having endorsements on the jerseys. Just look at this years All-Star game jersey. If I'm not mistaken, this was the first year we saw an outside company have their logo on an NBA on-court product.

By removing the logo, you're cosmetically acclimating the consumer towards endorsements.

there's not much you can do with a jersey. doesnt matter who does it, it will always look and feel the same

Nike can propose as many redesigns as they want, if the team doesn't approve it the uniforms will never see the floor. Those of you thinking Nike will come and make sweeping changes across the league should prepare yourselves for disappointment.

They did the same **** when they got the NFL license  only teams they actually improved and were allowed to make good changes to we're the Seahawks and to a lesser extent the Browns

You know who really has one of the ugliest designs in the league? Look no further than to your own Houston Rockets.

Since this is more of a subjective point of view, I'd have to go with...

  • Rockets
  • Clippers
  • Knicks
  • Thunder
  • Wizards
  • Lakers (go back to old look)
  • Hawks
  • Nets

I wish they went back to having logos on the jersey itself, but we know this will never happen again. The next time we do see a logo on jerseys, it wont be of the teams

So has Nike already won the bid for next year or is it still up for grabs?

if so, my pockets are ready

It's been official for awhile. It starts up next season with Nike. Swoosh will be going on the on-court uniforms for first time ever and ad patches will also start to be going on some teams.

I hate how the knivks
Nike needs to make the Knicks"New York" font bigger, curved, and spaced out.

The stripes that go around the armholes are weird too. They don't go all the way around. Looks really bad design wise.

Those new clippers jerseys need to go in the garbage as well. I saw that the kings changed up their jerseys but they still suck.
