Do you still expect/want new music from Jay Z?

I would still be a Jay fan today if he retired after The Blueprint. Only released one good album since and that was American Gangster and I think that album is overrated.

Snoop Dogg is absolute trash. Should disappear from Earth. Him and Jay are making awful music.

Em should have retired after Relapse. That would have been a nice album to go out on.

NaS' Life Is Good was a great album. I think a lot of men can learn from that album, some real **** on there after that boring *** Untitled album. I would have liked for Nas to retire after LIG. Hopefully his next is his last.

I liked GFK and Rae but I don't want to hear them anymore. Music isn't bad but I've heard so much from them, no desire to hear anymore. This kind of goes back to the thread about old rappers.

The Lox can still rap but I don't want to hear them anymore.
U really think untitled was boring
I liked it

Son, the production on that album was painful. I can't listen to it. The content is cool and he's saying some real **** on there but those beats are awful. Think there's only 2-3 songs I can listen to on it.

why is it only jay-z thats subject to this particular type of criticism?

age cant be it bc there are PLENTY of other OG's in his age bracket that no one questions.

and although I liked his latest album and some didn't theres other vets whos latest album has been on the weak side as well but no one comes @ them from the "he needs to hang it up" angle tho.

this is what being on top does for you...
Yup. Snoop Dog has been rapping for longer, is older, and has been putting out garbage for almost a decade. Not a word is said.

Good old crabs in a barrel mentality, gotta pull the guy at the top down.
what are you talking about "pull a guy down"

i'm not trying to force the guy out the door, i'm asking this mainly because of his success in other arenas

and what seems to be a lack of interest or participation in  this one

Nobody's expecting quality work from Snoop. He's been mailing it in music wise since the late 90s....you got a hot single from him every 3 or 4 years and rock out to it

As for the question at hand, I don't really care if he drops something new or not.

He's the biggest Jay hater on this site; I wouldn't expect anything less.

Expect: Yes; he can't walk away

Want: No, haven't been a fan of his for around a decade now.

I want him to make exactly the album he wants to make in his heart. The one he's been holding back to double his dollars. The one that might actually offend his political connects.

...if it's in him.

If not, I don't care. He can come out or not. It doesn't really matter. He's never terrible enough for me to say he should stop. He's just not as great as he's been, mostly.

I enjoyed WTT and MCHG both very much.

I don't know that I me varsity need anymore Jay-Z albums in my life, but I wouldn't mind seeing him tour a new album again, seeing some tracks from MCHG performed was super dope.

I'll keep buying his albums just cause I'm a long time fan, even though (other than AG) he's dropped mostly either disappointing or decent yet forgettable music for almost ten years now. When people ask who my favorite rappers are, I don't include Jay nor Em anymore, because that would be like including Kevin Garnett and Tracy McGrady as my current favorite NBA players. I'd rather think of them as they were instead of how they are, it's easier that way

I had no idea Snoop even put out music still that title alone is

. But no to answer your question, the more money Jay makes the less I can relate.

EM has been garbage for years now at this point. As far as jay goes do I still expect music from him yea, do I want music from yea simply because even tho he has changed a lot from when he first started his rhyming skills are still there and it's always nice to hear his wordplay but I do wish he would spit something a little more relatable to today's youth and black people in general

Do I expect music from him? Yes because people still care about him making music

Do I want music from him? Album wise nah, I'd prefer he just stuck to collaborations and guest appearances at this point

I honestly don't know.

Jay is my favorite rapper, point blank. But he ain't excused from critical opinions and slander. Nobody is, whether I'm a fan or not.

He's been borderline buns for some time now. I still cop new albums and enjoy a few tracks, but his **** now has no longevity. Last album was cool, but it doesn't even get burn anymore.

If he stopped rapping today, I wouldn't be bothered by it. He's given me gems from 96-2001 that I can still ride to. He'll always be appreciated.

But I'm not expecting/wanting anything new from him. I'm more interested in these young dudes who are spitting that **** right now.

HE can still drop a hot verse on a feauture here and there

ALbum wise? hell naw. he finished

Well said regarding pushing something that'll offend others and saying "f" being PC!
Also would wanna a diss track going at his sister in law

I mean I'll give a listen to anything he puts out, but I don't really expect much from him.

My dude you are absolutely bugging

OP, if he switches up the subject matter from "lol I'm rich and I have Basquiat paintings" sure
Yea This current Jay is wild boring, IMO storytelling Jay is his best form, last album I enjoyed from Jay was American Gangster.
