sup !  I need some opinions on whether I should buy these older jays or not

I'm deciding  whether to buy fire red v's , metallic v's , and grape v's  from 2006 vs the 2011 and 2013 retro's .  My main  concern is age , the 2006's are almost 10 years old even though I prefer their shape and quality  I still don't want to spend 300$+ on a pair of kicks that will crumble in 2 years , I really don't like the shape of the 2013 v's but it would be smarter for be the buy the newer retro  any responses will help thanks.

I am the same way.  I like the older retros better for the quality and look.  Personally I think the newer retro 5s look clunky and box like.  Personally I would buy the older shoe, defending on condition they could have way more than 2 years left in them.  But if that was a major concern I would buy neither before I bought a newer 5.

And i prefer Grapes and Metallics over the fire reds

Old retro with polyurethane midsole .... i try to stay away  but 2006 is doable if you wear it right now !!!

I personnally just focus on shoes with almost unbreakable midsole like phylon or rubber .

Better for the long term !

I wear my olive and burgundy 5s regularly, which released in 2006 as well. I must say, they feel much better than the more recent 5s. I did have an issue with a pair of Olives; there was slight cracking marks on the back after wearing them for years. I decided to purchase a second pair of Olives last year. I wear that pair regularly and I have no complaints. I guess I'd say, look for a pair that looks to be in decent shape.

Retros from '06 should be fine to wear if they were stored properly.

I don't know about them holding up but I can tell you I had the 2013 pair of Grape 5's and I had to sell them they hurt my feet so bad.

06 pairs are still wearable if they were stored properly. I suggest buying a VNDS pair, because the midsoles will be less prone to crumbeling if theyve been worn around

It's true what everyone above me is saying. 2006 models, etc will be fine. When you start getting beyond 10 years, then use caution. 2-10 are the only major ones to have concern. The rest are pretty legit on the midsole holding up aspect.

everything depends on the materials how they were stored... if good you can rock much older kicks than '06 wich isn't so back in the days actually (unless you trash & beat em of course)

Honestly, I will never, never, never buy an older shoe over a retro again. Bought some Lightning 17's in NDS condition that crumble the second wear. I bought several other pairs of OG's some years back that were not worth the trouble of just copping a retro and starting at Day 1. the whole quality thing is a lie anyway, it's just the fact that we have something to compare them too. Just like guys are saying the newer Jordan modals are quality because there is no baseline for comparison. Because trust me when these shoes were first released they had tons of flaws as we call them today and they were no made of the best quality materials in comparison to some other brands. Reebok pumps and Blacktops were tanks.

I been told Jordan 1 is the longest lasting Jordan of all time, it's said they are made same as Chuck Taylor"s and will last forever. Also Jordan 2-10 I heard a lot of crumble issues, myself I would go with OG 11's and 12's.

I still wear my OG obsidian's, they were DS when I brought them in 09 and I had to re glue but they wear like new still.

While OGs are nice to own and admire they cannot be worn without worry them split apart.

I just sold my OG flu game and cherry 12s, and 12s are tanks. Also sold my 2004 Wheat 13s. And recently 2008 CDP11/12.

Selling them now for full market value than a huge discount when it starts to crumble.

My oldest pair now is another pair of 1997 flu games that I wear casually (but with sole separation). Oldest DS pair being 2009 Space Jams.

Hi guys. I'm a new member of the forum so I'm not sure if this is the right way to go about it... I've been trying to find out the name of a pair of Jordans that I had around 2000-2001. I've been browsing trying to find them with no luck. I'm wondering if anyone can help me if I describe them.

First of all, the pair is black Jordans that goes up to the ankles. It had no lace except for 1 black string (possibly made of rubber), secured with a silver metal lace lock. So it is a slip on. The mid foot area is a combination of black sort-of rubber (possibly GPX) and black shiny patent leather. As I can recall there's no design, logo or any graphic on this area. The sole is white with a small Jordan logo on the outside of the heel.

Some of my friends suggested that they're Jordan Futures, but they're not, since this particular pair does not have lace.

I hope somebody can help me. Thank you
