"American Crime" Season 3 - ABC Show Based on Society's Race Issues and Stereotypes

All over the news are reports about a young couple in Modesto, California, who were attacked in their home. The case sends shock waves into the community stirring up tensions across racial lines in this gritty drama.

The titular crime this time is rape. The reluctant accuser is a teenage boy, Taylor Blaine (Connor Jessup), a working-class student at an exclusive private high school in Indiana, who believes he was drugged and violated at a party for the basketball team.

When pictures of her son surface on social media, Taylor’s mother, Anne (Lili Taylor), demands action from the headmistress, Leslie Graham (Felicity Huffman). But members of the school community quickly go on the defensive, including the basketball head coach, Dan Sullivan (Timothy Hutton), and Terri and Michael LaCroix (Regina King and André Benjamin of Outkast), the wealthy and influential parents of a team co-captain under suspicion.

The preview make the show seem interesting.

I watched it and it's okay. The acting is really good with the parents. There have been some genuine realistic reactions to those situations.

The plot kinda keeps me watching cuz I wanna know who did the crime, see what happens with the Mexican kid, and find out more about the couple but the pacing or who they choose to focus on pisses me off the first two eps. I do not care about these junkies and their interracial relationship. This chick obsessing over that like she remedial and maybe cuz the look of the show is grounded but I don't care to see the day in the life of a junkie either :lol:

That **** is just depressing.

Not sure if I'll like where it's going with the whole trying to mirror some current events with the protesting. I mean this dude is a junkie and a thief, probable worse. I don't know if he did it or not and got a hunch he didn't do it but for black ppl to rally around a dude like him? What just cuz his Muslim sister got some pull and a skill to manipulate the narrative? :smh:

But I digress, don't want to come off anti-drug addict.

Maybe it's cuz I've watched just about every ep of Law & Order but damn was I pissed when the father let his son talk the cops and then they hit him with felony murder charge. :lol:

@ him being punked in juvie though. Like I saw that coming when the other guy just straight up snitched after getting shot (also lets not even get in to the police just shooting this dude for fleeing, the most flagrant **** I've seen a while. I mean what state is that legal in?) but I did not see facilitation coming for basically renting out the car. These fools don't know how to deal with cops. You always ask for a lawyer. ALWAYS but I guess the writing had to not throw in those impediments to get the story flowing to where they want it to be and focus more on these junkies.

Show is good. i have been watching. i like it becasue it just goes to show you no one is squeaky clean...and in most cases things dont just happen.Theres a reason or method to the madness.

The most recent ep was ridiculously insane.

Carter is an idiot for messing with this crazy white girl. She out her murdering with ease and then ODing :lol:

I'm sick of them but it's pretty clear Carter and the white girl are like the lead focus in this case and everybody else revolves around them.

When I started watching this I never assumed anybody was law abiding citizens especially the crazy mom just off how she was acting. To forceful and stubborn. No surprise she lied and is a racist :lol:

So the husband actually being a drug user and dealer seems just about right. The father learning what a ho his daughter is was messed up though.

In the end it's pretty clear Carter is innocent but his life is basically over. So is the Mexican kid's since now he want front like he a lowlife too. Seems to me due to a snitch and piss poor police work a lot of ppl are gonna have ****** up lives for no reason.

Yeah theyre definitely main characters now after seeing this past ep unfold. Dude is an idiot for even considering her plan. Her killing dude didnt even phase her, making me wonder if she had to do something with the soldiers death. This chick cut off his anklet in his sleep, and showing pictures of couples from magazines. He knew he messed up when after she cut it off his ankle. He shouldve left her alone after he didnt say i love you back

Aint no way i wouldve read about my daughters 3 ways. That dad was asking for it he was too curious, almost creepy like. I was almost convinced he was turned on by it or something til he started crying cuz he was way to adimant about it and bringing it up.

Who was putting on makeup with black eye? Was that Tonys sister? What happened to her?

I wish we got the police perspective as well i wanna know how theyre investigating all this

Yeah they dropped the ball there especially since the show is called American Crime :lol:

but this is clearly more focused on different American families and one messed up relationship.

Yeah I don't know if it's just me but these actors are doing a good job of being annoying characters. Not all of them but the mom, the Mexican dad, his son, Carter's sister, the dad of the daughter.

The one guy who is a horrible actor is the Mexican dude that got cut and got shot. Son is just trying to hard to be a gangster. Just the way he talks and his cadence :smh:

@ this past ep with Carter freaking out saying he raped both of them.

Yeah mexican dude annoys me when he talks. Its like hes trying to hard to put emphasis on sounding like those cali mexicans (not sure how to put it) but you know what i mean. He prob is as american as me but they casted him cuz he could look the part.

Now after watching last weeks episode and then days later the baltimore riots took place :wow:

will be interesting to see what they do for season 2 since this weeks EP is the season finale (i think thats what they said)

how the mom gon ask if shes racist .. you knew your as was racist you didnt need to ask that. She already knew and if she was gon be naive then she should have got the hint when she contemplated having that racist segregation group back her in marching for her son.

So right now i think Carter is innocent and Aubrey is the one who killed the army son. Carter was a witness though or at least there. He prob took the credit cards which were given to the mexican dude. Tony was a just stupid kid that got wrapped up in something being at the wrong place right time.

Tony's dad though :x dude is so lost between the times, hos family, and his own personal issues with hisself. You can tell something is going on with him oersonally .. thinking maybe hasnt fully dealt/coped with the death of his wife. Hasnt fully let out his emotions cried and accepted it, idk.

Doesnt look good for Carter since someone (that wasnt black) cause that "riot" to start at his rally/march

It was clear from day 1 Hector was lying. Sadly from the jump I didn't think they did a good job of making ppl think Carter did it.

Actually feel a bit bad about crackhead Aubrey though.

I still get the feeling the father is gonna use the gun on Carter in the end though :smh:

Yeah I knew from jump about hector he was all to quick to come with info and then whenever they showed him a gun he was always quick to ID it.

Only thing I feel sorry about Aubrey is what she says her brother n friends did to her

I really called it. So predictable :lol:

Just gonna run up on an innocent black man and shoot him in the head and then off yourself like a coward cuz you were a horrible father. Worst part is I literally saw it coming. Saw this blurry figure rushing up on this dude and I just knew it was a wrap. At least they didn't throw in any swerves to make you think Carter had hope to live a better life. They left son pretty aimless since Aubrey would've been doing life.

Gotta say poor Aubrey though. They caught me with that before death hallucination. When I seen Carter breathe I was like :wow:

They on some other worldly **** if he's still alive. That's good use of a writing tool when you don't use it much.

I see all of the Mexicans basically got a happy ending. Aint even mad at it. Hector finally started owning up to his mistakes and telling the truth.

I can't really see a S2 of this with the same cast. It has to be a whole new everything to create talk with the next racially charged story. All I'd like to see continuing from this is a riot in Modesto. Focus on all the gun shops for the lapse gun laws in that state.

Yeah when after he shot carter i was like welp there goes the show. He killed himself n i was like :smh:

They got me with that hallucination too. he breathed N i said aint no f'n way he still alive after all this time. Actually the first thing i said was wait so they just still got him laying there on table hours later.

Then when it clicked back to reality it had :wow:

.. what the hell did she use to slit her wrists.

this morning i was talkin about the show n im like what the heck they gonna do for another season if 3 of the main folks are dead.

Master Zik yeah i got feeling thats whats gonna happen new setting n cast

I like how they just gonna cut off hector before he said how he felt.

All in all it was a good show glad i stuck with it
