Side Hustles 2015

It's always dependent on the location but RNs can easily hit the 6 digit salary.

My little brother started off as a new grad (with no job experience whatsoever in any field) with 75k a year with amazing health benefits working three days out of the week in NY.

I have a friend out in SF making 90k after a year of experience.

As a RN, you can easily get OT in your hospital or work per diem as well in different hospitals.

My RN program was four years of hard work and dedication. I literally had no social life during the semesters, but you make friends easily because you guys are in the same **** storm. Mix in clinical rotations at different hospitals either before or after class and you've got 4 of the best years of your life just fly by.

I literally was a hooligan before my nursing program, but those 4 years straightened me out.

I made a RN thread here on NT years back if you want to check it out:

Damn bro, you're making me wanna go back to school to become a RN

I fix computers on the side. Once I get more of an understanding on the networking end, I can pitch to the small businesses
Thats what I do now. I go back to school in the fall to learn the network side and sharpen up on my web design and coding

do it man, i'll be doing it when i get my BS

My side hustles is selling "OG" social mediums. It's technically illegal but it's not really a big deal.

Last year I made about $3000 from selling twitchtv usernames and xbox gamertags.

There is a demand for original usernames on many platforms such as twitter, instagram, kik, ...

It can be very profitable if you know what you're doing but it does come with risks.

You just have to be ahead of trends and know the market.

If you really want to hustle hard though you're going to need to get your hands dirty (bruteforcing, hacking, social engineering, ...)

I most definitely encourage all my dudes to pursue a career in it if they aren't happy with their situation presently.
I was trying to encourage all of my closest friends in high school to pursue a degree in it along with me but they either brushed it to the side or dismissed it since the degree was pretty difficult to obtain. Safe to say that I have a couple of friends who wish they have done it now.

It's a rewarding experience in itself since you truly get to see the progress of your patient's health considering you monitor them much more closely than most other professions in the healthcare field and it puts a smile in your face when others commend you for what you've done for them. Patient's can become ungrateful, but you generally have a positive outlook in life considering how stable and fun life is outside of the hospital.

The general public seem to have misconceptions that you can only do so little in the field of nursing. On the contrary, the field opens you up to a lot of opportunities. I have a friend that went back to school to become a nurse anesthetist. Dude will be pulling a starting salary of 150k a year just for sedating patients during a surgery. It's the easiest job there is. Most of the time those dudes are sleeping or playing with their phones after hooking the patient up to the IV.

If you'd rather not have any hands-on with patients, you can opt for Nurse administrator positions. I was lucky to have a chance to shadow a Nurse administrator during my last semester in nursing school. Dude was a "boss". :nthat:

The guy would come in every day with the freshest suits, juggle two iPhones at once, and have a cigar/coffee break any time he wanted.
He supervised the entire Cardiac floor of the hospital, signed off on the checks given to the doctors in the floor, and we literally ran around the entire hospital during my clinical rotation watching this dude supervise the staff and flirt/joke with the other nurses.

There's another NTer here that's a flight nurse. mjreb0rn mjreb0rn His job looks amazing. Dude gets to fly out in a multi million dollar chopper. :smokin

So, how much is your profit margin on average? If I'm reading correctly, you could purchase an item for $20 & have to sell it for $30 to break even after Amazon takes their cut.
Also, how much will you spend on inventory to ship to Amazon at a time?

Thanks for the mention @Drew. $6.5 million and some change to be exact.. Haha. I seriously thank the good Lord everyday for me having this job and being able to make a difference.
I do love my job, every call is different and challenges you to be at your best in different ways.

For example, the other night I did 5 flights in 12 hours. I went from a 6 year old that took a slug to the head CPR in progress landing in the middle of an intersection to my next call which was a sick septic patient that was in metabolic acidosis with a history of CHF that needed volume resuscitation. I love the different challenges and having to stay four steps ahead.

Of course the money is not bad, but I would do this job if they paid me less. With some overtime, you can easily pull over 100k a year and full time means 40 hour work week. Feel free to hit me up if you guys are interested in this field.

Drew, if you checked out th show I was the goofball that had the pediatric airway issue that we ended up reintubating in flight.

I thought about the flipping cars but I don't know much about fixing them so I backed out. But I just advertise, people i know tell people they know. Word of mouth is the key if you want free marketing

What scanning app do you use?

And how do you make the decision on what product into buy?

Do you just find something at a sale price and re sell it?

These are my questions too. So you buy it in the store and then ship it to Amazon to keep on hand until someone purchases it from you through their site. Don't the shipping costs eat you alive?

Virtual Goods.  Setup a payivy account where you can accept payments for like $5.00 and watch the auto-buys come in.

That's about the right breakdown but I wouldn't even bother with an item with that margin. The only time Ill sell something at even or at a loss is if its a dead item and I need to get it off just to get my initial investment back. Sometimes you'll take Ls on things you thought would sell and they don't, it happens.

As far as my average profit margin I try to only go for things that profit 50% or more. But that's up to you and your model.

Shipping tends to cost $10-20 at a time because amazon will have you ship a few items to each of their FCs, usually each package comes out to about $3-7 and you'll usually send three at a time. This is just my experience because I tend to stay away from heavy products.

Side hustles are put to the side for now until i finish up certain education/career goals. One step at a time.

thought about barbering school , i can cut late cuz most shops close around 7-8 , they got weekend classes to learn , i can  cut my own hair for free , & basically work when i wanna which is gonna be mostly weekends  and weekdays after the reg job

Yea the thread did go off a lil bit. But let's get to the quick hustles. A way to make money on the side away from your 9-5. For example, buying something at a low price then flipping it.
