A Bloomsburg (Pa.) University baseball player was dismissed from the team on Saturday after posting an offensive tweet about Little League World Series star Mo'ne Davis.

The tweet was authored by Joey Casselberry, a junior first baseman who was the team's second-leading hitter at the time of his dismissal. It was in reference to Disney Channel's recent announcement of a movie based on Mo'ne Davis' remarkable story. And it was unquestionably offensive, to the point where Bloomsburg's athletic department had no choice but to act as it did.

You hit the nail on the head. It's pathetic, really.

The girl is 13 and will be 100000000x more successful than the moron who insulted her.

What grown man calls a 13 year old a name like that? :smh:

I think having daughters just made me more aware of certain things, but I notice even on here the utter anger and visceral hate some guys have toward women.

Why would her getting a show be so upsetting to anyone?

Aaaaaand it's a race thread

So a white man makes disparaging remarks about a talented African American girl during a time of racial tension in our country and someone expects this not to be a race thread.

Meh....just by going off of the tweet, I think the guy is an idiot. Is he a racist, who knows? Impossible to tell based off of what he said...unless you jump to conclusions.

Its not a race thread can we please stay on topic I am really just sick and tired people constantly diverting attention from core issue of a topic to start another thread in a thread cause they just want to do that. I am always one to stand up and cry foul for issues and crimes against my people. But this is clearly not a race issue (thought it could have some underlying influence, but we don't know)

He comment is clearly gender based and he thinks a teenage girl is sloot just because she doing something that somehow he doesn't approve of

Just my opinion but it's pretty naive to think Mo'ne Davis being black isn't a part of this bigot's equation.

Maybe he's ONLY a misogynistic *** hole, if Mo'ne Davis was a 13-year old blond haired white girl named Natalie Klein, MAYBE he'd still be publicly calling her slot hating her for her success.

But a lifetime of experience in this country, particularly experiences with frat bro baseball players, tells me that the likelihood that Mo'ne being black is the basis of, or at the very least adds to this clown's hatred, is very HIGH.

Bet money he had some foul **** to say about the Little League kids from Chicago this past summer too.

If it was a black person saying it about a white girl, nobody would say anything

Black on black crime

It's not about race. I see no race.

Black family unit..

Amidoowin it right,?

I said this in another thread...

Right but the moment we start saying one version of his *** hole comments is worse than the other, you are totally downplaying the reality of one over the other. I'm a father of two black girls and this screams gender isssue bruh ain't nothing naive about how I see things.

question, with all the love Mo'Ne is getting from corporations and what not, how is that not a violation of her amateur status? Like, she's getting paid right?

I swear every amateur athlete deserves the right to make money off their likeness. Schools shouldn't pay them (too much of a gray area), but if a company wants them to sign an endorsement deal they should be allowed.

But no one is saying anything like that though. No one is down playing the reality of him being a misogynist. Acknowledging that he might be or probably is a two way bigot is not downplaying either reality.

He's clearly a misogynist. He's clearly a piece of ****. It's not clear he's a racist but it's fair to assume so given the reality of the society we live in and the context of his comments and Mo'ne's story.

Yall should of just let dudes comment about race rock instead of playing the race thread card. People crying about dudes crying racism  is what truly did spiral this intro a race thread.

SWS in the media have a history of using the word ****/*** etc. to describe black women the same way they use the word thug to describe black men.

I guess a few bad apples have ruined the bunch for me.

Who really disses a 13 year old come on now

This.

Not even on some humor **** either. I could understand if you were making a light hearted joke about a kid, on some funny situation "the baby fell over on his face lol" type ****.

But to have ill feelings towards a kid in your heart is disgusting, b.

But Tr1ll is right though. We doing too much, giving this dude spotlight.

i never really talk smack on social media only about my coworkers who are not on my facebook... i just make random funny comments but nothing crazy because news spreads quick :smh:
