Don't be stupid on social media...vol. Mo'ne Davis

it baffles me how people throw stuff like this all over social media like it's not going to get you in trouble? stupid

It seems to me it's more that she's a girl than because she's black but then again that site likes to post a lot of racial issues.

Yup he has the freedom of speech and his school has the freedom drop him from the based on how he uses his freedom of speech.

America. Gotta love it.

question, with all the love Mo'Ne is getting from corporations and what not, how is that not a violation of her amateur status? Like, she's getting paid right?

I swear every amateur athlete deserves the right to make money off their likeness. Schools shouldn't pay them (too much of a gray area), but if a company wants them to sign an endorsement deal they should be allowed.
Most of the money if not all of it is being donated. It's been given away to org for girls and under privileged youths.

If Disney wants to buy the rights to her story that's fine. She's not in college or signed anything with the NCAA yet

So a white man makes disparaging remarks about a talented African American girl during a time of racial tension in our country and someone expects this not to be a race thread.
Its always a time of racial tension in this country

Over the weekend, Bloomsburg University (Penn.) removed a player from the baseball team after it was revealed that he published an offensive tweet regarding Little League World Series phenom Mo'ne Davis.

By Monday Davis had proven why she's more mature at 13 years old than monday fully grown adults. According to TMZ.com, Davis reached out to Bloomsburg University ask asked that the offender — Joey Casselberry — be reinstated on to the team.

"TMZ Sports spoke with a rep for Bloomsburg who tells us President David L. Soltz received an email from Davis and her coach in which they ask that Joey Casselberry's dismissal from the team be reconsidered."

Despite Davis' plea, the university is not budging with their decision to remove the first baseman from the team. " While Bloomsburg says they respect Davis' opinion and praise her for being incredibly mature about the situation -- the school will NOT reinstate the baseball player ... saying, "Right now we're standing firm."

This time...being the bigger person wasnt necessary.

Just because he's white and he's being offensive to a black girl you assume he's racist? What is wrong with you people? Couldn't he just have said something offensive based or any other justification other than her race?

Individuals in 2015 really can't be offensive to another without it being automatically racially motivated it seems

That's what makes it even better.

And the school still isn't gonna put him back on so she wins twice.

She saved herself from a lot of blaming and hatred.. making sure the kid knows he did it to himself and saving America hours and hours of Fox news related to how the dude is the victim... NOPE. She's the victim snd the school doled out the punishment because they wanted to.. not because of pressure from her camp.

Hopefully some folks can learn a little from this. This is what black folks deal with regularly. When someone treats you like crap for no apparent reason you can't help but wonder if they are acting off racial prejudice or if they are just a butthole. You wonder if they are one of "those" people or if they're just having a bad day. This is why everything gets turned in to a race issue. Because in this world of political correctness most racists aren't blatant so unprovoked nastiness is about as much as you will see. You're left to assume the reasons behind it.

We're living in times where an entire political party has made it a point to use thinly veiled racially motivated attacks regularly against the president and leader of the free world. Can you blame folks for being hypersensitive? Let's just call it a trickle down effect.

Anyways, this probably was more about just this idiots comfort level with being publicly vulgar, in particular to women, but w/e way you slice it what's important is that he got what he deserves.

This is more sexism and immaturity than racism.

Women get treated like that often on social media.

It's always looks worse when the offended party is nice about it because now, not only were you an *******, you were an ******* to someone who was so nice about it they requested you not be punished for it.
