How is this not a terrorist act?
yeah it looks the dude had serious depression, doctors excused him from work that day but he tore up the note. He was sad over a relationship and decided to kill everyone because of it
because there was no political motivation....How is this not a terrorist act?

You would think that for a profession like being a pilot, there would be some sort of correspondence between the therapist and his employer. I'm sure there are HIPAA or other confidentiality agreements which obviously limits the information made available, but still....
It's kind of out of sight/out of mind, but you REALLY put your life in the hands of people like mechanics, pilots, etc.
RIP to those who lost their lives at the hands of this guy.
couldn't agree more. Lots of people suffer from some form of depression or anxiety, it doesn't necessarily mean they are suicidal/homicidal maniacs.I read a piece on NPR about the co-pilot and how he showed signs of depression.
That's a really dangerous way of approaching this. Depression, and hell suicidal tendencies don't generally impel you to murder 150 psople.
This is certainly a ****** up situation, but the worst thing we can do is stigmatize people with mental health issues as genocidal maniacs, and cause them to not disclose their issues with employers. Or on the flipside, this could severely hurt depression sufferes and their opportunities in the workplace.
This **** needs to be delicately handled

His doctors is claiming he was not depressed.
I agree..Yes...there are a lot of normal functioning people who have depression or anxiety. However, depending on the job, you have to take those factors into consideration when being responsible for the lives of others.
Most people don't wake up one morning and decide to crash a plane into a mountainside unless they're ****** up in the head
pilot getting that psychological cop out
You know we have to take time and evaluate the inner workings of the human brain for this, like we do with most vile acts.
