Jaguar is mum on its full powertrain lineup, although it does mention that both 340-horsepower and 380-hp versions of Jaguar Land Rover's familiar 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 will be offered, paired with standard eight-speed automatic transmissions (likely the highly regarded ZF autobox).

A total of 75 percent of the XF's body is made from aluminum, which trims the big cat's curb weight by 132 pounds on the rear-drive model and 265 pounds on the all-wheel-drive variant. Aside from aiding acceleration, braking and fuel economy, the advanced structure promises an increase in torsional stiffness as well as a 50-50 weight distribution.

beautiful ride

jag is in like last place in terms of reliability though i think

But they're beautiful cars... Put a 5 series, E-class, A6, and XJ next to each.... And it's obvious which one is most desirable...

Nah b.

Styling is subjective. IMO the XJ is ugly as hell. The front end looks like Ford Taurus with downs syndrome, the taillights look like they were borrowed from an old Toyota Solara, sloping rooflines look terrible on 4 doors and the virtually non existent rear deck lid makes the car look very disproportionate.

Of the cars mentioned I personally find the E-Class the best looking, although I do like the looks of the 2012 model more than the current one.

The current gen XF's interior is simply fantastic.

From the pics here, it looks as though it will be just as luxurious and comfortable as the current gen.

Do you have 1 or would you consider getting 1?

Immediate relative has one, and I probably drive it over 30 times a year when I'm in their city.

Great car for me or borrow every time I'm in town, and I absolutely love driving it, but I must admit I feel it's a bit too mature for someone in their early 30s.

Any of your relatives own a F Type or have you driven that?

None that I know of, but the car is still relatively new so we'll see who jumps on it. From the reviews I saw, the vert is impractical due to tiny trunk space, and the hardtop is annoying due to limited visibility out of the back. But realistically, I can't see anyone around me wanting to pull the trigger on essentially the drop top toy, or a daily driver they can't really see out of.
