DOPE Starring Shameik Moore, Tony Revolori, Kiersey Clemons, Zoe Kravitz, Blake Anderson, Keith Stan

^ didnt see this yet but i know for a fact they say it 5x less than Django, they was droppin the n word every 5 seconds in that flick lol

Its not overboard this issue is nobody in the movie seemed comfortable or even natural saying it. Nobody is sensitive these kids are just squares, so the use of the word was obviously forcefully inserted because "Thats what black people say" opposed to it being part of natural dialog. Watch a movie like the Wood, the N word usage is probably less and even then when it is used it sounds like natural speech compared to this movie.

Man i swear yall are trippin over nothin when yall know dam well when you were young you dropped it 5 times in one sentance. So if your older or not, dont get mad cuz they portrayed a group of neighborhood kids. They used it as a slang term, not in a racist way. Yall trippin. And this is commin from a. Mexican that has black homies that call me and other mexicans i dont know [emoji]9996[/emoji][emoji]127996[/emoji]️Essays[emoji]9996[/emoji][emoji]127996[/emoji]️ And nobody trips.

Word it felt natural

I think if diddy son rocky and vince staples were the "main 3" this joint would be classic status. I like the kid who was the main character just dont think they used him correct in this. I do wish kid the best in his career as he is part of our next gen of actors

Great movie saw it Thursday and loved it.

Was dope to have Stacey in there too.
Yeah that was dope

It's overboard

but it's overboard because of how the young generation uses it. Square or non-square.

The movie was written and directed by a black man. The same one who did The Wood. The difference is the generations usage of it.

As someone who is older, I notice it's progression.

Now it's used so much people don't realize when they use it. They also have no rules of when not to use it.

Why do other races always interject when a N word discussion is going on?

It's not your place That's why you totally missed the point of the discussion.

Read an article that said the main character bombed his in-person audition, but the director felt like he perfectly fit the role based on his initial audition tape, so he really went to bat for him. That it was real cool for him to do that.

I like the kid alot and wish him the best, i think his role would have been more realistic to ME if it was a story about kids from the burbs getting mixed up in some hot stuff.

Just saw it this afternoon, movie was good, but not great. Had a lot of potential, solid acting, and a decent storyline, but it just didn't go the distance for me. I enjoyed it though and got my laughs out of it. I see why people compared it to The Wood.

Saw it earlier today.

Way better than I expected.

Stacey cameo was a nice touch

Movie was cool . I went in knowing nothing about it and ended up enjoying it. I spent a lot of time growing up in the bottoms so it was cool to see some familiar spots. I get my haircut right by that Thurgood marshall bridge and the barbershop in the movie is right next to it. Tyga was corny in his brief part . Overall it was a good "be yourself" movie for the younger generation.

Am I the only only who thought the gay chick was cute?[/quote]

Bruh! Once I realized she wasn't a dude . She had a serious wagon behind her too. They tried to hide it with the baggy clothes but she couldn't even walk straight her hips were so big. Never knew who chanel Iman was until this flick either. Thought it was jhene aiko and then cassie

I saw those pictures of her with the Mickey ears on Tumblr years ago but didn't find out who she was until she was on New Girl.
