Kendrick Lamar IS The GREATEST Rapper Of All Time (Vol. Hear Me Out. LOOOONG read)

So what classics drake got? Gkmc is undeniable imo, should be unanimous. Tbap I guess I can see how people don't like it especially the hardcore drake fans, it's 2 different types of music.

I've always said that Drake will never have a classic because because there's a certain sound and content that accompanies a classic.

The Hip-Hop community will never fully give the title of a classic to a rapper who's singing on half of his album.

Drake's run though is classic.

You know what?

Revisiting the track list...I never realized how many songs I really enjoy off of TBAP . I may be underrating it a Lil bit. I always "liked the album" and the songs grew on me....but something was missing. Maybe the sequencing or something.

It's not an album I actively seeek out to listen to....but if it comes on, I'm letting it rock.

Might have to revisit it again on second thought. Haven't heard it in months.

TPAB doesn't touch GKMC.
It really doesn't. Not even close.

GKMC was the perfect balance of substance and listenability. There was a pop sensability to it, which is important to me because no matter how great the message is, you still wanna be able to listen to the music in your actual real life, which I didn't and don't see happening with TPAB

And that is my problem with Dot. People call him great and he's undoubtedly great for sure, but I can't say that in the Hip-Hop community and culture, it seems like TO ME that there's a lot of kendrick stroking w/o actually listening to him on the consistent basis.

TPAB doesn't touch GKMC.

As a WHOLE i like TPAB more than GKMC but GKMC has more songs i can listen on its own. Like someone else said TPAB like a movie, i wanna listen to in whole than see it in pieces

They both classics tho

Those are classics. Section 80 and OD are both great. The untitled unmastered was one of the best things that dropped last year. Dudes catalog is getting crazy.

GKMC and TPAB are 2 diff albums. But TPAB is better.

S80 is better than GKMC.

I have no prob if someone said S80 over TPAB. But it's not.

I think Lupe is best one lyrically in the game. He got good songs still dropping.

Jump and NGL are great.

But none of his past 2 albums are classic.

Only a few rappers are talking about what's going on in this world.

What about Lauren Hill's debut, unless that's not labeled a hip-hop/rap album.

I agree w/ this. I can't play TPAB in pieces, that's why I prefer GKMC over it. It's not saying TPAB aint great because it most certainly is but my preference is GKMC because I can listen to a single track individually w/o feeling like I'm messing up the vibe of the album.

What did I say that was false?
First you said TPAB isn't a classic, which it clearly is. Then you brought that clown Lupe in here with that Tetsu bs. Both of your claims are incorrect.
You can see by the discussion in this thread that TPAB is not "clearly" a classic. Lupe a Clown? You're not a rap listener. If you heard T&Y you wouldn't have called TPAB a better album.

There's really no arguing this. I fronted on GKMC for a while, might be cause it was being crowned a classic the week it dropped but there's no denying that both his albums are elite.

I prefer TPAB over GKMC tho

A handful of members say TPAB isn't a classic, doesn't mean a thing. Every respected voice in this culture knows it is. Yes Lupe is a clown and T&Y is a solid album (I do own it btw), completely overrated by his Stans on here too. You probably can't relate to TPAB or maybe your knowledge of music is limited to the rap of your era. TPAB has been critically acclaimed by musicians across genres not because GCMC got jobbed at a silly award show, but because it stands on its own as a classic album.

My Krazy Life is up there with GKMC.....

People won't acknowledge it though....because YG doesn't "fit the mold" of someone having a Blassic album.

I'm sleep though.

I'm talking real life too. Across generations of hip hop listeners. I can go outside and ask people to name tracks on TPAB (I've done this in another debate) and they'd tell me Alright, maybe King Kunta and "this **** ain't free". It's not a classic. Stop caping and accept it. I didn't say it sucked or anything about the Grammys. I just said it's not a classic.

Both of these guys managed to paint a vivid story of two dudes in the same city, but from two totally different perspectives. MKL is the Ying to GKMC Yang. That **** is so dope to me.

That's your opinion on it and nobody is caping. You & a handful of NTers are in the minority with your views on TPAB. There's really no point in you and I discussing this any further.
