I can understand they're showing love to the hometown but why both launch colorways? People would like to try on the shoes before buying given it's a new model. I don't understand their strategy. The Homes should be everywhere and the South Side Lux in Chicago.
Probably samples. Look at the first page you see a rendering looks like that.

Ya I agree that this release seems really poorly executed. I've been buying rose shoes since the 2.5s and I always wondered if it was harder for those outside of the Chicagoland area to be able to get their hands on these shoes,

Yeah it's pretty sad... Last year I was hyped when I could pick up the 5s in store on release day (located in MN).

Perhaps they just don't move well enough outside of Chi (as someone mentioned), so they don't bother with shipments to many other cities.  Does suck though.

Both of those look nice, the red pair seems kind of suspicious since it's using the prototype photo....
